Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice struck his fiancée with his hand, rendering her unconscious, according to a summons obtained by ESPN.

Rice and his fiancée were both arrested for simple assault after an incident early Saturday at a casino in Atlantic City, N.J. Rice and the woman "struck each other with their hands," according to an Atlantic City police report.

A video obtained and posted online by TMZ on Wednesday shows Rice lifting the woman by her arms out of an elevator at the Revel Casino and laying her on the ground. She appears limp as he pulls her legs away from the elevator doors and later props her up.

Rice's attorney, Michael Diamondstein, told The Baltimore Sun that the footage is authentic but incomplete.

"The video that has been put up by TMZ shows the very end of what transpired between Ray and his fiancee," said Diamondstein, who said he and Rice would "not try this case in the media."

The prosecutor's office released a statement, saying the domestic violence incident involving Rice has been referred to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office for review.

The incident will be reviewed by the NFL under the league's personal conduct policy.

Rice is due in court next Tuesday morning.

Also, Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata has been chosen to replace Rice at the Maryland Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' kickoff party on Friday night for its annual March of Animals event.

An spokeswoman for the organization said it was a mutual decision because the two sides didn't want to take the focus off the animals and the cause.

Another classy move by NFL athlete....I think one of the reasons these problems exist is the "mentors" around them during key growth development stages are pushing them in football....and only football. They aren't being taught how to act like a man. The way I was raised, is even when a female strikes you ....you walk away. You are bigger, stronger, and need to keep that in mind before going around striking females. Wonder how long he will sit out before the Ravens welcome him back and everyone starts discussing his touchdown or other nonsense again.

It being TMZ, I'm already cautious about whether it's legit. For one Ray Rice looks a bit skinnier than I remember him. And the incident is already an incomplete picture as it is.

Looks more drunk than knocked out, no one knows what really happened yet but that won't stop folks from putting him in a negative light.

And if the cops arrested both of them for nothing we will see a lawsuit or something to cover that...

She sounds like an animal so he can't claim he likes animals.

So, let's put the negative light on the woman as liberals tend to do??

The video showed Rice helping the woman out of the elevator and she didn't look too bad off but we haven't seen her face.

No problem.......the Ravens and NFL have a history of overlooking criminal activity by their black players......including those who participate in a double homocide.......Rice will be welcomed back on the team.........and no feminist organization will speak out due to his high melanin content....

A simple Google of "Ray Rice" would show you it's ESPN, USA Today, NY Daily News, Baltimore Sun, CBS, etc, etc.

As far as Aaron Hernandez, I dont see how anyone is overlooking that... he is sitting in jail and was cut as soon as the story broke.

Since both the casino and the police say there is security footage of their "domestic dispute", then the next time they're seen, he is dragging her out of an elevator and trying to push her around the floor with his feet..... anyone with common sense would say "well, that is suspicious".

I realize that's not an option for you, since it's not "racist".

Which means he would've knocked her out in public with a camera showing that, if that's the case.

Big Ben has never been arrested or charged with anything but was still disciplined by the league......Hernandez will be in jail for the rest of his life and will never be available to play on an NFL team.......apples and oranges

Our tax dollars help fund arenas that showcase athletes like this.

Also, I find it a bit odd that you have posted in the Dunn and other threads with out asking this question.... why did you choose now ?

Please highlight the race bait and stop spamming the thread with off topic posts and flame bait comments.

Would have? How do you know him so well?
He dragged her out of an elevator, maybe he knocked her out in there.
    Maybe in their room?
There are lots of places in a hotel/casino to find privacy.
    Their businesses thrive on that.

That said.... I'm not saying he did anything. It's early, and we have no publicly available evidence.
I'm only saying they obviously have reason to believe this was physical, and not drunkenness... thus not making anyone who sees it that way "racist".
    As SupaBad loves to claim.

Seems to me the only "Current Events" forum is listed under Politics.

If you believe differently... point it out to the OP, or better yet... the administrators who created the site.

I'm not sure if it happened in their room, it looked like they were trying to get back to it. But then again, there's no one camera to tell the whole story so....

Every casino I have been in has cameras everywhere, including the elevator. It probably just wasnt released to the general public. But I could be wrong......
