This has to be a world record?! From Pro Life, to Pro Choice, to Pro Life, to Pro Choice, back to Pro Life in 1 minute and 18 seconds! I've watched this interview half a dozen times, and I still have no clue whether he's Pro Life or Pro Choice. I'm no stranger to politicians saying one thing at one place and time, and then saying something completely contradictory at another place and time, but this was at the same place and in a 1 minute and 18 second time frame.

Word of advice, go ahead and try to make sense of this, but as soon as you feel the headache starting to come on, just laugh at it and realize how absurd it is.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YSGLBAinETc#!

0:00 [Pro Life] "I'm Pro Life from conception, yes."
0:06 [Pro Choice] "I don't think government should make that decision. I don't believe that government should make that decision."
0:14 [Pro Life] "I support life from conception. No, people shouldn't be just free to abort because if we don't protect the sanctity of life from conception, we will also start to play God relative to life at the end of life. My position is I'm Pro Life, period."
0:41 [Pro Choice] "That's her choice. That is not government's choice."
0:45 [Pro Life] "I support life from conception. No, abortion should not be legal. I believe in the sanctity of life."

    I'm dizzy!

If anyone has an example of a more rapid fire flip-flop, I would love to see it!

I could say Mitt's career but, there isn't a video of him taking a different stance every 10seconds compared to Cain.

Romney's flip-floppings depend on whatever office he's running for.
Ask me that question and its a simple "pro-life"I hate abortion, always have, always will.To me its murder and disgusting, and should be abolished and no one will ever sway me from that belief.
    It's that simple.

To Buckeye Seabee: I pretty much wrote off Herman Cain because of his connection to, and love of, the Federal Reserve. Cain’s infanticide callisthenics clinches it for me. The guy is a spinning top just like Romney. I, too, get dizzy just reading what they say:

    Cain's latest bizarre abortion comment
by Philip Klein Senior Editorial Writer
    October 21, 2011 4:13pm

Herman Cain took another shot at clarifying his abortion stance on Fox News today, but in the process only added to the confusion.

Cain attempted to argue that when he said in a CNN interview earlier this week that the decision was ultimately up to the family, what he really meant was that it was up the family as to whether they wanted to break the law.

“I do not think abortion should be legal in this country,” Cain said on Fox today. “Abortion should not be legal. That is clear. But if a family made the decision to break the law, that’s that family’s decision.”

On its face, it's completely bizarre for a presidential candidate to say that families should decide whether they want to break the law, but either way, it's difficult to square with previous comments.

Cain told Piers Morgan the other day that, "What it comes down to is it’s not the government’s role or anyone else’s role to make that decision." He also said, "It ultimately gets down to a choice that that family or that mother has to make. Not me as president, not some politician, not a bureaucrat. It gets down to that family. And whatever they decide, they decide….I shouldn’t try to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive decision….The government shouldn’t be trying to tell people everything to do, especially when it comes to social decisions they need to make."

Some have argued that he only made this comment in the context of rape or incest, but either way, nobody could reasonably interpret these remarks to mean what he said they meant today. Especially considering that if you go back a few months, Cain also told John Stossel, "I don't think government should make that decision."

But what could government do besides set laws and enforce them? Isn't it assumed that anybody has the choice to do something illegal and risk getting caught? Cain's statement like saying it's illegal to rob a bank, but people get to choose whether they want to do so.

At this point, all I can say is that I think Cain wants to be pro-life, but I'm just not sure he knows what that means.

To catch up on Cain's previous confusing abortion comments, check out David Freddoso here and here.

I do feel sorry for Cain’s diehard supporters. His latest boo-boo has them singing this oldie:

He was stating his personal beliefs, and he was stating what he thinks the law should be. He was saying that it was morally unacceptable to have an abortion, and that it should not be done in any event. Then he states what he believed the law should be, that the Woman should have the choice in cases such as rape- but also insists that it is not moral to have an abortion.

Tell us how many times Perry has flipped and flopped on eminent domain while in the same office ?
    Within 2 years..and why ?
I hate those who are bought and sold... and use Religion to attack others.

So you can be the right Religion and WRONG on about anything else.

Romney is bought... Look at his sources of Donations to his campaign so far.
Perry? Who cares about him honestly. He is a terrible debator, has an extremely poor record and he is flip flopper too. Basing it off of Religion too as to why people attack Romney is a joke... People just need to look at his record and be displeased. But a lot of closet Obama supporters who still wish to wear Red are going to vote for Romney of course. He has a track record to being malliable to the Public Demand.

Mitt Romney has a Huge problem aside from the fact that MSNBC isn't
about to switch hit and stop portraying him as Mr.Flip Flop.
MSNBC has given authority for a Black juvenile delinquent in the form
of Host Al Sharpton ,constatnly referring to Romney as " WILLARD ".
I see this is as a trend where no matter how glib and confident the
guy with the good hair and broad smile appear,he is already being
smeared by denigration of his own name, where that wasn't allowed
    with Obama { Hussein }.
Democrats play by different rules. They even change the rules to
accomodate their own. They Lie as a manner of course.
For ex ... Chuckie Schumer running around railing about the rich
    even those worth a Million.

You are dizzy because you cannot discriminate between a persons personal VALUES and what he sees the responsibility as a politician. What is confusing. the Man believes one way yet clearly states with no hesitation that such a topic is NOT the business of govt. Duh?

No as a democrat with the greatest waffler ever in office you should know waffling when you hear it. what the man said on abortion was clearly stated. I do not believe in it yet I do not believe it is the govts business to decide in this. pro RIGHTS while being Personally against it.
Like saying I do not condone gay marriage yet they should have the rights of civil union to get equal benefits under the law. You can Personally be against an issue yet realize as a politician it is not your business to legislate your opinion to deprive another of their rights.

    Clearly you missed it...

"I'm Pro Life from conception, yes." (Pro-Life)

"I don't think government should make that decision. I don't believe that government should make that decision." (Doesn't believe Government should deal with the Abortion Issue)

"I support life from conception. No, people shouldn't be just free to abort because if we don't protect the sanctity of life from conception, we will also start to play God relative to life at the end of life. My position is I'm Pro Life, period." (Pro-Life. People shouldn't be free to abort? Who controls that decision?)

"That's her choice. That is not government's choice." (Believes it's "her" choice)

"I support life from conception. No, abortion should not be legal. I believe in the sanctity of life." (Pro-Life, yet... it was her choice but, now he wants it to be no longer her choice. He now wants a Ban which can only happen from the Government itself... He did flip flop quite a lot.)

Yes, he clearly stated that, and then he also clearly stated "no, abortion should NOT be legal." That is obviously what is clearly confusing. Duh?

Are you guys really serious ?

    Abortion this and abortion that.

Meanwhile Both Cain and Perrys tax proposals would have a family
making $ 50,000 per year paying $4,800 MORE in taxes...while those making over 120,000 pay $ 450 LESS
YOU TELL ME which is more important to more and WHY. ??

The religious pandering in IOWA is a joke.
    9.1% unemployment...
25% in most states un insured and cost going up..

And you focus on abortion as some mythical test of honor for a man to hold office ?

    Why NOT adultery ?
    Drinking alcohol to excess ?
Not attending church on a regular basis. ?
Giving 15% to that church every year ?

    Men setting rules over women.
I do wonder if men got pregnant what the rules might be.. and if they had to raise the children alone..without a loving spouse and funds.
I betcha abortions might not be the top concern.

Billy Boy, this is just one conversation, bud, this one thread doesn't envelope our entire opinion of the man, it's just one discussion about one topic that a lot of people care about.

    But if you're dedicated to drag it off the topic of abortion, which you obviously have no comment on, I suppose we can take some time to talk about Cain's economic genius;

In 2005, when people like Ron Paul were warning Americans and our government about the coming financial crisis, Herman Cain said, “that kind of ignorance makes homeowners fear that their most expensive possession could turn worthless overnight. That won’t happen.”
    http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_new....TpZznO0ddSE.like&fb_source=profile_multiline

When it DID happen, and homeowners' most expensive possessions turned worthless seemingly overnight, Cain responded by supporting TARP and bailing out the bankers. Not the homeowners, the bankers.
    http://004eeb5.netsolhost.com/hc133.htm

"I thought TARP was going to be an opportunity for the government to allow any bank that needed to to restructure its balance sheet," Cain said. "But it didn't. It only picked its friends. That's when I turned against TARP."
    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/06/herman-cain-my-support-for-tarp-could-be-a-problem.php

These aren't "oopsie-dasie, my bad" little errors, this is an epic economic meltdown and a three quarter of a trillion dollar bailout. This is monumental failure from someone being considered for the job. Really?! What is your motive for hiring a proven loser to coach your team?

Let's look at the 9-9-9 plan; Where did the plan come from? Herman told us it came from an economist, we know it came from a banker in Cleveland.
    http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-cain-banker-999-20111012,0,2398327.story

Who endorses the 9-9-9 plan? Art Laffer, who is probably the same guy that advised Herman on the nonexistent housing market crisis.
    http://youtu.be/LfascZSTU4o

How does the 9-9-9 plan work?

The Most Toast Company sells toasters. They charge $10 for the Extreme Toaster XL. The government steps in and says they want 9%. Most Toast raises the price to $11. Most Toast gets $10.01, the government gets $.99. Joe Consumer gets his 9% taxed income and goes to the store to buy an Extreme Toaster XL to find it has gone up $1 in price. He takes his now $11 toaster to the checkout line where he is taxed an additional 9% in sales tax. Joe Consumer just paid $11.99 for a $10 toaster with his taxed income. Joe Consumer gets triple taxed while big business gets off the hook.

It's a typical plan from a big businessman, a banker and a Federal Reserve tool who knows all about how to take the money from the 99% and give it to the 1%.

I have listened to the man for years, while he Personally does not believe in abortion he also does not believe it is a legislative issue. The need to put your map over his ideas is Your issue.

I can't figure out what part of "abortion should not be legal" you don't think is a legislative issue? Are you as clueless as Cain? It seems that way. I'm not "putting my map" over anything, friend, I'm taking his words and his words are saying two different things, and I'm asking which one is real? Apparently, it's all fake, just like the man.

What Herman Munsta fails to realize is, he's a donkey in a horse race .

Him being so close to the FED and not wanting them audited ruined his chances of winning the nomination.

So he can flip-flop until the cows come home he won't win. he's just acting desperate at this point.

take that 999-666 plan and shove it where the sun don't shine, Heman.

To 4Horsemen: Right on. Cain and the Federal Reserve is a joke on conservatives. His tax plan is a con job.

Aside from Cain’s obvious flaws, beware of flat tax proposals without first repealing the XVI Amendment. Every wannabe who proposes a flat tax, a fair tax, a federal sales tax, a value-added tax (VAT), or any combination of the four leaves the tax on income in place. Cut through the rhetoric and you’ll see that they are giving the government one more taxing mechanism on top of the income tax.

Also, look out for any candidate who says “Reform the tax code.” Every time there is talk about reforming the tax code accountants and the schools that train tax preparers for their spot at the public trough complicate the code even more.

Incidentally, I believe it was then-Speaker of the House Denny Hastert who said the public would save 2 billion dollars a year in fees paid to tax preparers simply by abolishing the IRS. In 2003, H & R Block alone took in 1.9 billion dollars in fees. Lord only knows what the total amount paid to tax preparers is today.

The only wannabe who can be trusted is the one who says “Repeal the XVI Amendment.”
