Which nation is the most powerful in the middle east? From Iran's border with Afghanistan, to Turkey and Egypt.

Which is the most powerful nation in sub saharan Africa?

Which is the most powerful nation in Europe? Not including Russia or Turkey.

    Sorry, a fairly nonsense question.

For one, a lot of your listing of "Middle East" covers areas that are not part of the "Middle East".

But if I would put the two nations as a toss-up, Turkey and Israel. Both it is all relative, because both are set up very differently, and it would also depend if the nations were agressors, or attacked.

Sub-Saharan Africa? Well, that would be the only nation with any kind of imposing military, the Republic of South Africa.

As for Europe, once again, depends on what kind of conflict. But I think I would put my odds on the Swiss. They have not lost a war in over 200 years (not something any other nation other then England can claim).

Heck, would you not be scared if you saw a Division of these soldiers comming at you?

I think Israel for the middle east, there isnt really any military in africa besides South Africa, and Europe is England, i would say Germany because they still make the best weapons, but they cant build an army.

No, the Area I said is all in the middle east, Arabia, Iran, Turkey, Egypt and everything in between. I would say Turkey first, then Egypt, then Saudi, then Iran and Israel. Which in a full conventional war would lose, to the other bigger 4. And that's without US, EU, Chinese or Russia support.

South Africa unfortunately is the Chinese backed Africa superpower.

In Europe, I would say Germany, they have a very good air force, and army, and have a larger population, and economy. They would win, unless the UK and France joined to defeat it, which is what would happen. Then after that the French would win.

Hahaha, I would with their Swiss army knifes.

OK, I would still put my money in Turkey and Israel.

Egypt, are you kidding? That nation for one is still embroiled in a civil war, and their military will not be functional again for years as a minimum. And they have been spanked several times by Israel in the past. That is one of the main reasons they fillay made peace with them.

And I would barely count Iran. They could not even beat Iraq, a nation the US spanked twice within days. And they have absolutely no ability to project power beyond their immediate borders (other then missiles, which are not military weapons).

Saudi Arabia has a good military, but it is largely arranged as a defensive force, not an offensive force. They could probably kick the crap out of somebody that attacked them, but they are not much of an offensive organization.

I think it's fair to say in over all terms military, economic, political, diplomatic and cultural power. Israel is the greatest military power, but with no US help, I am not sure how long they would last. The same goes for Egypt, Iran and Saudi. In overall terms I would have Israel 5th.

Look at the various Arab-Israeli wars, and you will see the same pattern.

The Arabs attack (or are about to attack) Israel.

    Israel responds.

Both the US and USSR resupplied their own client nations.

    Repeat.

Take the US and other nations from the resupply chain, and I would still bet on Israel.

And do not forget, those were all attacks involving most of the regional nations against a single country. Most of those nations (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan) now have long standing peace treaties with Israel. The largest and most powerfull ones would not attack them now, unlike 40 years ago.
