There are regions within regions within regions... I'm in the London region a.k.a Within the M25 in the UK but also... I'm either in South London or The West End usually - these are not London boroughs, these are 'London regions'. I'm also in the British Isles in Europe which is north west of Western Europe, north of the Iberian Peninsula and south west of Scandinavia. Since these are 'close by'; are all about an hour's flight away/"just over there". What's your region(s)? What regions do you like? What regions don't you like?
