    Hello, all

I created a similar thread a while back but wanted to expand on this concept a little bit.

I was raised to believe that God is a "He," that it is only appropriate to refer to God with male pronouns, and that it is always inappropriate to refer to God with female pronouns. The vast majority of Christians, Jews, and Muslims have been raised the same way. In fact, I've only met a tiny handful of Christians who sometimes refer to God with female pronouns, and they tend to be put in the immediate "cult" category by other Christians.

Like many young Christians, I asked about this as a child. I'd ask if God had a pee pee. The answer was "no" (note: I'm fairly certain Mormons and some other small Christian groups do actually believe that God has a physical, gendered body. With Jesus, God the Son, this made some sense to me, since he had a body, but it didn't make sense for God the Father or God the Holy Spirit.

The explanation I normally got was that there was more to gender than biology: that God was a "He" due to his non-physical masculine traits. Okay . . . but then . . . shouldn't we accept trans people?

But, to take it further, many religions (notably accepting Buddhism) teach the existence of some kind of soul -- some kind of non-physical essence that persists moment to moment and even after death.

So, if a person believes in a soul . . . how can they regard transgenderism as in any way delusional or wrong? How is the belief in a soul any less absurd in your estimation?

Why only Buddhism, it was widespread in ancient times. The classical construction of a person is:

    Spirit - male energy
    Soul (Psyche) - female energy
body - could be either male or female

For me those people are somewhat broken, messed up. Bad Karma for sexual transgressions in previous lives.
    Could be wrong though. ;)

God the Father does not need a gender. Why would He? He has no need to recreate by sex. When we say mankind we refer to male and female. If you believe the Word of God, "He created them male and female". Not one of the new 40 + genders now entertained. In my opinion Males are incomplete alone and so are women. Each has strengths and weaknesses. Together they can combine some of the best attributes of God.

Presumably Abraham knew what sex his god was when they shared a non-kosher meal together and had a face to face discussion about the number of righteous children in Gomorrah and Sodom before the god walked down to count them (Gen 18).

The bible, however, differentiates between mankind and womankind (eg Lev 18:22 KJV). And Genesis 1:26-27 describes a meeting between a number of gods and goddesses, and how the male creator god created a male person in his image and likeness, and created a female person presumably in the image and likeness of a goddess - "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them".

We, however, all start off as female, and if we have a functional SRY gene then our clitoris will become enlarged and have a slight plumbing modification and become a penis, and our labia will fuse and become a scrotum (as evidenced by the fusion line), and the uterus will develop into a prostate. If we have a non-functional SRY gene then we will continue to develop as female and identify as female as evidenced by super models with Swyer Syndrome.

Jesus said God is a Spirit. That makes sense since God is omnipresent.

Abraham's god, however, was neither an omnipresent or omniscient type of god, and why they shared a non-kosher meal together and had a face to face discussion about the number of righteous people in Gomorrah, and why the god then walked down to count them (Genesis 18:1-33) - or so the story goes.

Where does that story say that Jesus was a contemporary of Abraham, and that they had a non-kosher meal together?

Jesus, however, didn't claim to be a god, nor to be without sin (Mark 10:18-19), and why the Romans mocked him as the "King of the Jews" when they executed him for sedition and a potential threat to the Roman occupation.

God is referred to as "he" because the religion was developed within a culture where males were dominant. Same reason we say Mankind. These have since been used for such a long time that its just part of the language now, even with the more gender egalitarian society. And people like Justin Trudeau look silly when saying "Mankind? Oh, we say PeopleKind".

And yes, the belief in a soul is just as faith based and irrational as the declaration that a man is a woman if he/she declares it to be so. A lot of woke ideology is very similar to religious belief, with dogma you are told not to question, etc.

But where does the story in Genesis 18 say that Jesus shared a non kosher meal with Abraham and that Jesus was Abraham's son.
And how on Earth would the writer of John 8:56 know what Jesus actually said anyway, given the gospel of John was written decades after Jesus was executed by the Romans for sedition?

Either way, before Adam's grandmother was I.

She was also shown that all eight billion humans have a spark from one of these fourteen Elohim within them......

which is an aspect of the plans of our Creator for us humans that made former Covering Cherub Helel really, really, really, really JEALOUS AND ENVIOUS!!!!!

All scripture is just man made including the ten commandments etc since they didn't apply to Abraham etal and their ancestors. Which is why it wasn't morally wrong for Cainan to kill his brother Abel, or for Noah's father to kill a young man, or for Noah and Abraham to have sex with their sisters, or for Lot to have sex with his daughters.

And presumably Abraham's god also had brown eyes and a brown skin.

No, the other two were the two blokes Abraham's nephew picked up down-town, and why Lot's future sons-in-law wanted to know what they were up to with their future wives in Lot's house, before Lot mocked his future sons-in-law and then sexually assaulted their future wives in a cave.

But that's what the story in Genesis 19 says, and describes how Lot's sons-in-law wanted to know what the two blokes were up to in Lot's house, and how Lot offered their future wives to the other people outside Lot's house with Lot's sons-in-law. And how Lot then mocked his sons-in-law, and then sexually assaulted their future wives in a cave.

    Not quite.

The Shekinah aka The Holy Spirit, is feminine.

btw: Yahweh had a wife, Asherah.
