So the poll left out the religions with the most followers in the world, like Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Wasn't that kind of stupid?
It wasn't a list of "religions" but rather a list of underlying human philosophies about God and what can be known about Him. That's a much more fundamental list than merely trying to list some of the zillions of religious sects in existence. But you're right - the topic title is misleading since being an agnostic or a deist an atheist, etc, is hardly a "religious affiliation".
Do you have a relationship with God, or at least believe that he exists? It's possible to believe in God, without believing in the organized religion aspect of it. Some Christians do not go to church on Sunday with other believers. Some Christians believe that Christianity is just a relationship, but not a religion. I believe that organized religion isn't necessarily a bad thing. The Bible says that we should associate with other Christians, and that includes going to church.
I find this poll interesting. So often you hear about how right wing this forum is, from certain members, but 78% aren't Theists. Kind of hard to think of the right wing is only a wee bit Theist.
I believe in the One God&Goddess Allah kami (Omnicaring niceest evolution) (Greatest omnicaring developer doing extremely superfluous sensitivities) (All active happiness) (kewlest active maximum intelligences) in which the One has both male and female personalities like me.
OK, now that the poll's up I have to say I object to the title. It should say philosophy, not religion. Atheism and agnosticism are most certainly NOT religions.
I am an atheist who strongly objects to the three main monotheistic faiths. I am ok with the concept of a higher being, but not ok with organized religion. Besides the rampant hypocrisy, genocide, and pure evil in all three religions, I think the biggest harm they cause is the intellectual progress we could be making towards solving many of the world's issues.
