Obviously headed toward a crushing victory, defendant's friends-of-the-court in the upcoming DOMA and Prop. 8 cases before SCOTUS have submitted Amicus Briefs urging the bench to ignore any scientific evidence that may raise questions about the merits of their case. I'm not making this up. A respondent to these statements said this: I concur.
And you're surprised? These people will stop at nothing. Trust me, once all this nonsense is over and DOMA and 8 get struck down, there will be violence. The religious right will be foaming at the mouth like rabid dogs.
