and move the operations to the far more gun/business friendly Alabama/ https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-amend...I7N1Uah2jAWS4DR1IKM5tmTdD7dLKWsQD3BPl2jTBY6Qs at one time, most of the US small arms makers-like many other manufacturing facilities, were located in NY/New England. Remington in Ilion, NY, Colt in Hartford Ct, Kimber in Yonkers NY, Winchester and Mossberg near New Haven, Savage Arms in Mass, etc. However, those states have become infested with gun hating Democrat politicians and many of those makers have moved their operations to the South, where gun ownership is far more respected and the climate for businesses far better.
There's an older related thread about this here: firearms industry moving from n.e. to the south. (posted in Current Events, Nov 13, 2021 ) Remington was founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in Ilion, New York Cerberus, which specializes in buying financially distressed companies, bought Remington in 2007.
Savage Arms is still in Westfield, MA. You also missed a big one: Smith & Wesson in Springfield, though not for much longer. Though I'll note...Remington Arms is GONE. They were liquidated in bankruptcy in 2020-Vista Outdoor bought the brand name and makes ammunition in the old Remington factory in Arkansas. "RemArms LLC" owns the Alabama plant and licenses the Remington name from Vista.
The firearms manufacturers industries Exodus from the hostile Northeast has been going on from some time ago
John Moses Browning and Samuel Colt, hallowed be their names.... Are turning in there tombs and would be sorely disappointed at what this nation has become
