Sounds like Lankford committed the unforgivable sin of trying work with Dems to fix the border problem, and now he is censured (act of formal formal disapproval). Another GOP rep flat out said he didnt want to fix the border because Biden would get partial credit and that was a big No-No. Its an interesting mindset given the fact that illegal immigration is sold as #1 issue this election cycle. They don't want to fix it unless they get total credit.

WASHINGTON — The Oklahoma Republican Party approved a resolution Saturday censuring Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., and attacking the Republican lawmaker for negotiating with Democrats on a potential border deal.

The resolution, shared by Oklahoma State Sen. Dusty Deevers on X, formerly Twitter, accuses Lankford of “playing fast and loose with Democrats on our border policy." Lawmakers for months have been hammering out an agreement to address the challenges on America's southern border, and Lankford has served as the lead GOP negotiator.

The resolution also calls on Lankford to “cease and desist jeopardizing the security and liberty” of Americans.

So happy to hear this. Lankford likes nice press within Washington circles...should pay attention more to his voters.

His voters don't want the border fixed? If so, then why do they keep complaining about it?

The worm in the apple is how the term "fix' is defined and that is why Dems and Repubs can't get together.

That's what they said in 2012, and that bill had the entire GOP wish list in it. The Senate passed the 2012 bill, and House Speaker Boehner refused to debate it. How many people have we apprehended since then, - 10 million? More?

OMG, you mean the righties want THEIR WAY OR THE HIGHWAY ?

Haven't we been saying Republicans don't know how to govern since before the House Speaker election ?

I can understand that view. It's just like trusting that Republicans can actually govern when in power.

The problem isn't how many get caught, it's how many actually get in. Previous bills were amnesty vessels but we have never seen the numbers we now have or the broad spectrum of where they are from. What we are doing now is destructive to our way of life.

No...not even the same concept. Something closer to the situation would be...a Republican president that has demonstrated through his actions that he/she is pro life, telling the Democrats to commit to a compromise and he will do all he can to make abortion legal. Sounds ridiculous right?

What is ridiculous is imagining that Republicans will actually attempt to pass absolutely any legislation. You know, like in the job description of a legislator.

"Those who pass their initial humanitarian protection screenings, including when the "shutdown" authority is in place, would generally be released pending a full review of their cases with immediate eligibility to work in the U.S., a change that would likely be welcomed by Democratic officials in communities struggling to house migrants relying on local services. There's also a proposal to provide lawyers to asylum-seekers.

One of the most contentious issues in the negotiations has been the immigration parole authority, which Mr. Biden has used on a large scale to resettle more than 1 million refugees and migrants. Negotiators have discussed limiting the use of parole at land borders, but the White House has resisted broader restrictions pushed by Republicans. The deal is not expected to shut down Biden administration parole programs that allow U.S.-based individuals to sponsor the entry of certain Latin American migrants and Ukrainians, the sources familiar with the talks said."

No thanks. Y'all can keep that bullshit. How bout we just keep bussing illegals to dem cities for another year until those clowns stop trying to negotiate and compromise and they just capitulate and shut down the border. If we keep bussing them for a few years we can probably get them to get rid of all the "dreamers" ... (my bad) illegals as well.

Yes, that is the path the GOP has chosen. They are an invasion army, and the best way to deal with an enemy is put them in buses and send to American cities.

I'm not kidding. That actually makes sense to them.

They're sanctuary cities bro what's the problem? Texas did not willfully declare they're happy to take in all of these illegals. But these sanctuary cities did. So they can take care of them.

Stop voting for stupid policies and stupid politicians.

You want dreamers to become citizens? You ****ing take em in. You want illegals to become dreamers? You ****ing take em in. You want sanctuary cities which declare themselves havens for illeglas? You ****ing take em in.

You can have all those illegal pieces of **** you want. Texas has plenty of them to give you. They didn't do **** for their own country but you expect them to benefit ours? You ****ing take em in.

And you can ****ing pay for em too. Tell your punkass sanctuary cities and states to stop begging for federal assistance for the illegals they said were welcome there.

Read up about what a sanctuary city is.

I didn't say there was a problem. If you think its a good idea to send an invasion army to American cities, then so be it.

F-Bombs and inane ranting removed from quote.

    I have.

    https://www.nyc.gov/html/mancb10/do...d_sanctuary_city_resolution_final_version.pdf

They want them. What's the problem with sending them there? And until they're declared an official invasion force and we have the right to defend ourselves, they're just illegals that the Dems want to let in. Right?

They you should know better. It has nothing to do with asylum seekers, it has to do with how illegals are processed when they are arrested for other crimes.

Anyway, you're beating a dead horse here.

I beg to differ. Part of what I quoted you said that LEO's can't stop them and question them based on their immigration status. Which means they don't know OR CARE if they're asylum seekers or some pedophile who swam across the rio grande.

Why doesn't it make sense to you? They are flooding border States so some of them get a ride to places that state that they want them. Sanctuary.

If they were an invasion army, like they are portrayed to be, then offering them transport deeper into the US would be treasonous.

If they admit they are asylum seekers, then they can send them elsewhere. What do I care.
