Tax Payers are forking out 250 billion a year on welfare for the working poor. Paul Ryan supports boosting the EITC and Marco Rubio has proposed his bastardized version of it. both of which cuts a check from tax payers to give these working poor a meager living. Solution to welfare, more welfare.

Why shouldn't we make retailers and other non exportable service employers pay a higher minimum wage so we dont have to pay them welfare? because they will pass the cost on to consumers? let them, let the market be on the hook not the tax payer. This should after all be the true conservative deficit hawk position.

for example if walmart was forced to pay 12 dollars an hour to its employee's and passed 100% of the cost to consumers that would equal. 0.46 per shopping trip, or $12.49 per year, for the average consumer who spends approximately $1,187 per year at Walmart. So let Hooter, Arbys, Mcdonalds, Walmart, ect pass the cost, and lets stop subsidizing business.
