Meanwhile, I'm glad that Obama drew the line. I hope that the American people support him regardless of what he does.

Considering Congress is all to happy to give up its political power(and is only operating at any rate, because the people are furious at their apathy), I'd say it's well to say that we live in an autocratic "America" where Obama has far more political power than any other person in the country, period.

I mean, his own State Department said that abiding by the constitution as it regarded the Syrian Question was unnecessary.

The Geneva Convention does not stipulate U.S.(or anyone else) for that matter to engage in warfare upon violation(nor is Syria a signatory to the treaty), a treaty is an agreement, not law nor is it sanctified.

The only ones who are stipulated for such an agreement is the U.N itself and we can only truly act if U.S. interests or if the U.S. continent or military personnel are/have been/could be attacked.

We do not endorse the Bush Doctrine, never again. (Unless it's okay now because it's Obama?)

What is "war"? Is sending in a few drones to bomb chemical plants a "war"? If not, then the president can do it without congressional approval.

The Geneva Convention is a long-held standard for warfare, including civil wars.

Yeah, that's why they haven't proven it in all these years, and the world regards Bush's rush to war as arrogant, pig headed and wrong. Then again, Rumsfeld DID shake hands with him after selling him weapons (along with Iran) in the 80's. One thing is for sure. The hypocrisy of the right is rather obvious.

Maybe he should have just bombed them first, then made up the faked intelligence, and get congressional approval after the fact. Shoulda thrown around scary terms like "mushroom clouds", or "yellow cake from Africa", THEN, bombs away, like his Republican predecessor.

Russia submitted a 100-page report showing why the evidence points to the islamic fundy rebels. USA and associated terrorist entities to the contrary? Their "word", and heartfelt bs inflated speeches.

It matters, you genius, because our gov wants to start a war in support of the rebels.

Say 10 times to yourself in the mirror, with a straight face: "I support the Free Syrian Army, who may have AQ elements, but ARENT AQ, who may have shown to be ruthless killers and torturers of innocents, but collectively are NOT the same, BUT, ARE collectively peace-loving, democracy and freedom seeking, future westernized secular democracy type of allies."

yes lets let our president lead us into another pointless war costing thousands of lives and creating more trouble for us and everyone down the road. We should take a lesson from the swiss and just stay out of it.
