Doesn't he know all that masculinity will just cause them to hate him more? His ONLY saving grace could be that he had his arms around another man What do you guys think? Too masculine? Would he get more leftist support if he transitioned? What's your opinion?
The trolling of the OP aside, I applaud Kennedy for physical fitness being a priority in his life. If only more people in this country made even half of his effort we’d all be better off. I, however, can do without the ego trip. In my opinion it’s far better to be more modest. But that’s me. To each his own. I wouldn’t base my vote on masculinity. I prefer to go by one’s platform on the issues. I guess I’m funny that way. That being said, if I were registered Democrat I would vote for Kennedy over Biden in a heartbeat.
Reminds me of the type of stunt Putin would pull. Not saying RFK is Putin, just that they might have overlapping mental health issues.
but RFK would look much cooler riding on a horse shirtless. Just sayin! That video has inspired me to renew my gym membership! (now I just gotta add more exercises to the workout besides driving past the gym)
Don't waste your money on a gym membership. Set of adjustable dumbbells and a chin-up bar is all you need. One-time fee to buy those things and you have a home gym while saving a ton of money not paying for gym membership.
I have dumbells. What about legs? Dumbell lunges? What about the chin up bar. do you recommend a certain kind? the kind that wedges inbetween where a door goes?
You can get really fit from pull ups, squats, and push ups (dips after you work your way up to them) alone. I've had a lot of great results from this program, which goes into more bodyweight stuff: http://www.startbodyweight.com/ Felt like a million bucks the first time did a dip.
Only thing I would change is that I wouldn't suggest doing any of the dip exercises at all until you are doing triangle pushups, then start with the assisted dips. Those dip exercises where you have your arms behind you on a bench or something can really f things up, or at least it did for me. The pull-up exercises also took me a lot, lot longer to get through, but the website has advice for adjusting the routine. I'll throw a small party for myself when I finally manage a true pistol squat. As for RFK, I have problems with some of his stances, but I do hope I'm in half that kind of shape when I'm his age. He may be "on something," but "on something" as in hormone therapy, not roids or anything, and I don't really see the problem with hormone therapy for older people who want to stay active. Or, hey, it could be all natural. I don't personally care about that part.
This type of chin-up bar works great https://www.amazon.com/Iron-Gym-Tot...&qid=1688063679&sprefix=chinup,aps,185&sr=8-5 Lunges or squats for legs.
+1 for those door frame pullup bars. I like keeping one at my office door and doing 1-2 every time I pass the door. I can still only manage 2, but I'm hoping to work my way up.
maybe he is on that stuff that I always see the commercials for. I forget what its called but I remember at the end he always winks at the camera and says "AND SHE'LL LIKE IT TOO"
Happy to help those who are interested in physical fitness. It's been a part of my life since I was 15.
Love doing pullups. My next purchase will be dip bars. Keep at it and before you know it you'll be doing more and more pullups.
Lol, perhaps. But, speaking of "she'll like it too," just a few weeks of doing pushups (and I was hardly in shape before I started) was enough to get a little bit of that "horseshoe" on the triceps. My wife loved it and kept squeezing my arm when she passed me. I don't think guys get how just little improvements are enough to impress women and they spend way too much of their time trying to impress other guys.
For whatever reason, I've found dips to be way easier, but I'm keeping at it. Frozen shoulder runs in my family and my mom recently had to have surgery for it, so I'm getting more and more reasons to stay active.
Him being physically fit is a minor positive. Being physically frail could interfere with the rigors of being president. Not as important as being an effective leader with good policy sense/ideas.
I think the stunt was effective because RFK has a vocal defect And his physical fitness will dispell any idea he is physically unfit.
Some on the right are expressing their approval of RFKjr, mainly for his stance on vaccines. But, as he states, he is not anti-vaccine, he just is against corruption and misinformation, and Pharma, given the fact that they have been fined billions for fraudulent activity over the last few decades, we shouldn't accept everything they tell us without question, Vioxx, Thalidomide, etc., being examples. The point is, he's a democrat, NOT a conservative. I do like his anti-corruption positions. My view is that RFKjr is the true populist. I hope he wins the primary, though he probably won't because the media has him pegged as an antivaxxer.
While @ECA is right, that a gym membership isn't absolutely necessary, he is making two mistakes, or at least unsupported presumptions: 1) that your fitness goals are similar to his own; and 2) that your psychology, regarding working out, also matches his. For some people, it is helpful to be in an environment of others working out, to help keep them focused (even having just one workout buddy, some find very motivating). For those who need more inspiration, there are those gyms which offer group workouts, in which you are doing all sorts of unconventional exercises, like flipping huge truck tires, and such. This can also bring out more of a competitive spirit in some, for whom competing against one's own past performance, is not enough. Also, there are gym memberships that are not too pricey, at say a YMCA, which include things like racquetball courts, and a pool, for those who do not want to just lift weights. In fact, they may have other classes as well, anything from Zumba, Jazzercise, or some other dancefit class, to yoga, and pilates, Tai Chi, maybe even Qi Gong. Lastly, if you're looking to build muscle and get cut, a good weight room is going to be more conducive to that, than your home gym. Sure, you could keep in shape with just a few weights, and your own creativity-- something for which Bo Jackson had been known. Or you could get the Chuck Norris "home gym," or some such. But if you want to be doing serious bodybuilding, it would cost you a mint, to buy all the weights, and machines you'd need (as for leg press). I highly recommend Arnold Schwarzenegger's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. It covers the subject thoroughly, from every angle: lots of exercise options; how to get the most out of every exercise; different training routines, for focusing workouts on different parts of the body; nutrition; even psychology. P.S.-- One other personal recommendation: don't try to emulate Kennedy's shade of red. Get less sun, or use sunscreen.
