Before I begin, I know most rightwingers who "respond" will not actually address the topic and instead just go for the "what about lefties" whataboutism. I'll make some effort to address that when it occurs, but I'm mostly going to stick to the topic. After all, when rightwingers complain about the left "ruining games" they mostly bitch about how they don't want to see any gay characters and they don't think the female characters look sexy enough. Look, I'm a nerd. I love sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. And I LOVE gaming in those genres above all else -- above film, television, and even books. I've done tabletop roleplaying games, wargaming, videogames, etc., though LARPing never held an appeal. So I go to a gaming store yesterday to play a little bit of Warhammer 40k, a miniature wargame set in one of the darkest (if not the darkest) sci-fi settings imaginable. Henry Cavill (an avid 40k player himself) has a 40k movie coming out in the near future, by the way. I pick up a friend of mine with her Adepta Sororitas army (picture futuristic nuns-with-guns) and she starts playing against a guy with his Space Marine army (Space Wolves, for those who know the setting). I'm at another table running Chaos Daemons against some Tau. Eventually, my friend asks me to take her home. And I can see she's clearly not even done with her game. The Tau guy and I have figuratively "pressed pause" on our game because we aren't having fun anymore with the match up and would rather just chat. So we pack up her stuff and I start driving her home. Turns out, she felt harassed by the other player. He didn't directly harass her, but as his army started winning, he started talking about all of the, *ahem*, inappropriate things that he wanted to narrate his army doing to hers. He was also going on and on about how "liberal SJWs" had ruined the game and that the Sororitas models weren't as sexy as they used to be. This, by the way, is a common complaint among RW 40k players that you can see all over Youtube and all over Reddit. Departing from her story for a moment, there was also an incident in Spain a while back where a guy wearing a swastika and calling himself "The Austrian Painter" (get it?) showed up to an official tournament and was declared the winner because no one wanted to play with him and, technically, that counted as a forfeit in each case. After that, and after one of the most popular 40k Youtubers was outed as a neo-Nazi (Arch), the game publisher came out with a statement clarifying that they don't support fascists, causing several RW fans to go into a rage. There was also this gem that I covered before: This was a photoshopped image from the game I was just talking about, comparing Trump to (I **** you not) a character known in the setting as The God Emperor of Mankind. Now, I don't know who created this image, but maybe they were just trolling Trump supporters. Why do I say that? Because the character he's being compared to is the perhaps history's most brutal tyrant. He's a genocidal xenophobe currently on life support and requiring the human sacrifice of over 1,000 people a day just to keep his coma state stable. The setting is all about humanity being besieged on all sides by demons, hostile aliens, heretics, etc. It's used to set up a world in which fascism is the norm because all of these threats leave humanity with no choice if they want to survive. It is meant as a PARODY of fascism, but just as there are RWers who love Metal Gear Solid and Bioshock, there are RWers who miss the point and just think all the fascist stuff is cool. But it isn't just 40k. I've experienced similar stuff with other gaming, particularly video games, and with table top roleplaying games. Above all else, it is mostly focused on being misogynist, but it spreads to other topics as well. I think that most of it is due to insecure and socially inept nerds wanting to take out aggression and getting sucked into the alt-right rabbit hole. Regardless, though, it sucks, and it has resulted in many, many women leaving these hobbies while the toxic slugs who remain behind whine about how they can't get the same sort of girls that they are actively alienating. I don't know what the RIGHT WING has to do with this or what their problem is with the warmhammer trailer link you gave (comments were closed on it) but the thing you mentioned about. The part you mentioned about liberal SJWs ruining women in these games is 100% true. The last mortal kombat game (MK 11) had the female characters in BUTCHY outfits when usually they are super skimpy and seriously toned down the curves of women. Yes, they did this because social justice warriors are constantly crying over body image stuff. Video games are FANTASY. I want the women curvy (more than normal) and the dudes to be JACKED and RIPPED. I don't wanna play a kart racing game where instead of using ridiculously fast vehicles, its a bunch of fat dudes on walmart scooters racing at 2 MPH (laugh it up but thats where its headed) So what was the actual point of this thread? That LIB SJWs ruined women in gaming? If so, thanks, but we already all knew this. Its pretty much fact at this point. Nobody wants "normal" every day people as video game characters. We can see that crap in real life. Also, maybe you should just try and enjoy a video game without thinking about trump or politics. Video games are supposed to be an escape from real life. Dude, the MK characters were still sexy. And why is it "ruining" the game just because not all of the woman you are seeing are supermodels running around in bikinis? Then buy those games instead. I ain’t going to lie. I can’t even jump in this conversation. I know nothing about gaming but my bias to gamers is that everyone I have met were liberals so I thought it was all a bunch of liberal nerds. Didn’t even know conservatives were gamers. I thought we were too busy working, going to the gym, MMA classes, outdoorsy stuff like horse riding, shooting, fishing to ever go out gaming.

I've played all of the MK games. I was playing back when Ermac was just a rumor. Yet more evidence that you didn't actually read the OP. I go into toxic RWers poisoning games. Oh, there are a TON of conservative gamers. Ever hear of Reddit or 4chan? And, frankly, mostly of the liberals I know spend WAY more time outdoors and exercising then RWers do. I'm not nearly as liberal as my wife, but I doubt there are more than maybe 2 people on the forum more athletic than she is. My liberal gaming buddies all work out way more than the RW gaming buddies do. On a personal level, I work out way more now than I did when I was more conservative. Most of the conservatives I knew growing up spent more time eating junk food and watching COPs than they did going to the gym.

I have heard of those sites you point you but I am never on them. I literally don’t know anything about gaming. So it weird to me for sure.

Yup, turns out when you get together with people from ALL OVER THE WORLD to play a game, there's always some jerk that says distasteful thing. I've noticed when a female voice is heard some people make a big deal out of it and I also noticed some N bombs being dropped. I haven't ever noticed these people saying their political affiliations though. I don't know if the word "jerk" is a political one.
It's hardly unusual. Most female gamers have experienced it, if not all. I've seen it for decades, sister.
