If I failed to properly document that there is a demographic group of bigoted Christians that express an irrational paranoia of a virtually non-existent threat of Islamic terrorist attacks in the United States I'll have to work on providing better documentation of that fact in the future. I actually believe that a person has a far greater likelihood of dying by an accidental fall in the shower than they have of becoming a victim of an Islamic terrorist attack in the United States. Does that imply we shouldn't take a shower? Do I need to look up the number of deaths caused by accidental falls in the shower?

I've nominated this thread for Thread of the Month and would encourage members to "Like" the OP if they believe that it was well presented as a foundation for respectful discussion and debate regardless of whether you support the opinion or oppose it. Political Forum is about respectful discussion and debate and that's why I nominated the thread.

This is a pretty shocking list. I doubt most Americans know how often this type of thing happens.

    1. Saw SPLC. Didn't read. Sorry, come up with a more credible source that is not a front for trial lawyers seeking to gin up civil suits against fabricated "hate" groups and "hate" crimes. 2. I don't see how the above is responsive to my post, or refutes it in any way. Are you trying to equate whatever acts are in the SPLC data as "hysteria?" Sorry, there are "hate crimes" against all walks of people including whites. That alone doesn't make "hysteria," just the law of large numbers in a country of 300 million people. 3. You block quoted my post, but didn't bother to address the claims actually in it in any direct, meaningful way. Why bother to block quote it then?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but according to the FBI, 57% of hate crimes are against Jews, while only 16% are against Muslims.

Hate crimes against both are unacceptable. But the point Shiva was making is that Muslims are frequently targeted due to their religion.
