So Mittflop has shockingly realized that insulting a massive chunk of Americans is not the best way to get elected.

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...47-comments-i-was-completely-wrong/?hpt=hp_c1

So was he pandering then, or pandering now?

Do all the Romney supporters who defended him and insisted he was right about the 47% now claim they are wrong as well?

You know what really makes me sad? The fact that, despite this, a whole lot of republicans will still hold that position. :/

So... was Mitt right in your Liberal opinion to retract and change his position?

He should not have apologized for those that don't pay their "fair share". I just think it's funny that when Obama calls them victims, it's okay. But when Romney calls them victims, the leeches act like he poured salt all over them.

Yes, yes he was. Refer to my sig, please. What he said was both incredibly offensive and really, really wrong. A retraction is good. A bit late, though, seeing as he's already had one press conference specifically over this.

Obama said that those who don't pay their "fair share" should be taxed more. So your family should be taxed more. How are your taxes over there in Germany, just out of curiosity?

No. I don't. It proves that he was either pandering then, or pandering now. Either way, it's very apparent that Romneys tone and platform have now taken a much more moderate route now that the general election is in full swing.

The question really is how do you and other conservatives who agreed with his original statements and vehemently defended them now feel? Do you think Romney is wrong now? Or are you saying you we're wrong before too?

This thread isn't about Obama. It's about Romney retracting his 47% statements. How do you feel about ROMNEY'S actions?

I know it's hard for the cons on this board to have a conversation without their ODS Tourette's blowing up, but for (*)(*)(*)(*)s sake, at least try

Soooo... one Liberal says "Yes" and another says "No"... the "No" opinion also states that there is nothing Romney can do which would make it right. You all better talk to work this out.

Should we also talk about all the items where Barack Obama insulted large segments of the population? "clinging to guns and bibles".... "They want your dollar".... "Typical white person".... etc...????

Can Barack make it right and re-tract too?

What's wrong, you can't answer my question so you predictably deflect?

    Romney hasn't changed his position.
What he said is not something that you can take back.
It is his mindset, not a hasty comment.
He's just lying when he says that he was wrong.

The number one thing pundits, both left and right, were talking about yesterday was how stupid Obama was for not bringing up the 47% video of Romney. They all stated that it will be an issue in Debate #2. Romney just defused it and Obama has missed the opportunity to capitalize on it. Sure the President can suggest it is a flip-flop, but I doubt he wants to open up that can of worms.

Yes that is odd, all those posters claimed Gov Romney was correct. My guess is they will still defend the statement.

So Romney has the integrity to admit a mistake, when's the last time Obama did that?

Do you really think he believes that it's wrong?

The only mistake that Romney is admitting to is getting caught.

I already said that Romney shouldn't have said he was wrong to say what he said. As far as I'm concerned, he was right on to say it. You see, unlike you, the rest of us are allowed to disagree with our candidate when he (*)(*)(*)(*)s up. Unlike you Obamasuckers who dare not even look at his shadow the wrong way lest you get punished for treason or whatever. Now, about that Obama...
