I find this to be pretty low...to try to turn an event meant to help others into a chance to make yourself look better to the public...

    http://www.theatlanticwire.com/poli...ned-romneys-campaign-stop-relief-event/58529/

I had a little respect for Romney for doing this of his own free will....when he purchased items just to make it appear like it was a huge event is where he lost me again...

Maybe you should learn to read...I said respect...not vote...I've made it quite clear on numerous posts I'm not voting for him...

Respect though is something different. I had none...then I thought he did something actually on his own will...only to be fooled....again...

Funny how this "Relief effort" was in Ohio. He knows without Ohio he loses the election yet he shoots himself in the foot with the auto industry ads.

Pfft...this was nothing more than a publicity stunt for him to look good.

The event was a flop. He purchased items and set them out to make it look like it was a huge success all in the name of making himself look good to the voters...

I would have respected him more if he were honest about it...even with little turnout...

And another thing...it's pretty pathetic that every time a claim or thread is made about Romney there's always someone that's gotta say "but Obama does this" or "Obama did that"....yet you guys are always quick to condemn the ones that defend Obama and bring up Bush.... hypocrite much?

I find it absolutely amazing that you can find fault with Romney helping people out of his own pocket.
I'll bet that had he done nothing you would be complaining that he was too greedy to help them.

If you can't see that what he did was a way for him to improve his image to Ohio voters then you are blind...I've already said I would have had respect for him had he try to just run a simple charity event and it providing a low turnout rather than try to make it look bigger than it actually was...

There's been numerous times I have been involved in charity events, going around collecting for food drives and not once did I ever buy food just to make it look like I had been more successful than I actually was to others...

If you think he did it just to improve his image then you are stupid.

Romney has a long history of charitable work. Last year alone he gave $4 million to charity.

It wasn't the fact that he 'paid out of his own pocket', its the fact that the stuff he bought was then turned around and given to supporters to 'donate' to Mitt for the photo op. OH and all of this is against Red Crosses rules as they don't like stuff like this as its logistically a pain in the ass.

Yea, put into a trust so as to help him defer even more taxes. Real charitable guy.

    If you don't...then you are...

Ohio is a state Romney needs to win...

The event was held in Ohio...

The event had a low turnout...

Romney tried to make it look like it wasn't...
