    That was my first thought. Trump does not "own" the Republican Party. He is not an official within the Republican Party.

    I'm sure there is a board that runs the GOP and they are the ones that decide who the the head of the party should be.

    Just another sign of how far down the Trump rabbit hole the entire party has gone.

    And because of that , he believes he is the head of the Rep party. Thus he continues to control it.
