I say congratulation to KC. I remember back to the 80's when players like Quisenberry, White, Brett, Moreno, Leonard, McRae etc. were the scourge of the AL West. I go back even further and can remember the KC A's before they moved to Oakland and after the A's moved to KC from Philadelphia.

So this old fart wishes them the best.

To me, one of the big advantages of being an old fart and a baseball fan since the mid 1950's is that I got to see a lot of the old legend players play ball. Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Mantle and Maris, Banks, Musial. Berra just passed away, he was an exceptional player. There are a host of others.

What I liked about baseball back then was you had to win your league to advance to the world series. Of course there was only 8 teams in each league until 1961 and 1962 when the leagues expanded to 10 teams. But no divisional playoffs and no wild cards. Just winners.
