So, Trump didn't send checks with his signature on them, created out of thin air? Just curious why Uncle Joe's checks cause inflation, before they were even sent, but Uncle Trump's didn't. I realize that this is a question that Trumpers usually don't like to answer.

Now, I am not saying that the second covid stimulus was ill conceived -- it was. But, so was the first covid stimulus, with hindsight. The money should have been targeted to those that really needed it, instead of giving it to all, including those who didn't lose their jobs. Of course, if that had been done, the ones who didn't lose their jobs would have cried a lot about being punished for being responsible. You can't do anything right for some people.

Seems the story continued to change depending on the day

Show me a tax cut exclusively for the rich. You can't, Trump's tax cuts applied to ALL taxpayers. Regardless, I did not mention the "working classes", much less assign them any blame. What I said was that the $1,200 checks that Uncle Joe sent out to all of us at a price tag of $1.9 Trillion in freshly created money was the proximate cause of the inflation we're seeing today, and I stand by that analysis. I am fully aware that those were not the first relief checks sent out by Uncle, but the previous ones were done in a period of rapidly contracting demand, thus offsetting the inflationary side-effects. But Joes were sent out into a period of rapidly expanding demand, which is a whole different beast.

That I even need to explain that printed money plus increasing overall demand is a sure-fire recipe for creating inflation boggles my mind. It is something that anyone who has taken even a basic economics class can tell you without knowing anything else. I did (and still do, very much) enjoy my new 65" 4k TV that Joe bought me, I even went for one of the more advanced models that's more expensive than just a barebones TV, but I'm paying for it now with $4/gallon gas and a rapidly growing grocery bill. Good thing my better half only has to go to her office once per week, and I can offset a lot of the grocery increases by decreasing how often I indulge in a fat, juicy steak. Good thing I genuinely love ramen noodle soup, I eat it frequently regardless of what might be happening with prices. Having it a bit more often won't bug me one iota. Having backyard chickens helps, too, because I love an egg salad sammy for breakfast.

Fake News. We are still operating under the Orange Miracle's tax policies and 2021's tax receipts are running at 17.6% of GDP, the highest rate since 2015, and 2015 was a fluke. If you take out 2015 you won't find a higher tax rate until you get back to 2007, which was also a fluke, take that out and you won't find a higher federal haul until you get back to 2001.

In other words, last year's haul was higher than 7 out of 8 years of Obama/Biden and 7 of 8 years of Bush/Cheney.

THE GRANDPA FELONY FINGERS INFLATION DISASTER: High inflation leaves food banks struggling to meet needs. “Food banks across America say those economic conditions are intensifying demand for their support at a time when their labor and distribution costs are climbing and donations are slowing. The problem has grown to the point where last week President Joe Biden called for a Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health in September, the first since 1969. Oh, a conference."
