"...door-to-door OUTREACH ..." does not mean forced testing except in the minds of the tinfoil hat crew and dick-head talking heads like Rush.

 

So the issue is that the government is going to hire local people to do wellness checks on its residents?

I'm pretty okay with this legislation. Check up on people, see how they're doing. Get them tested in case they can't go someplace to get tested.

 

How dare the Democrats take away our sacred right to die alone from a horrible disease in our homes. What next, will they try to take away our liberty to starve to death if we become lost in the mountains or to be run over by a speeding car on the sidewalk?

What makes anyone think this is needed. Do you know anyone that has not been able to get to a testing site? This is pure politics

 

How dare they demand you be forced to get tested. This will also force all to get vaccines when they become available.

Ugh, first the government came in with their tooth brushes and showed me as a kid how to brush my teeth! I miss my right to have my gums swollen and teeth falling out!
Second they came in and showed me how to read! Can you believe the audacity of the government? Showing me words and depriving me of my god given right to be as iliterate as uncle bob trying to read his prescription bottle?
Third they came in and I swear by Jesus and God the almighty they told me about my rights as a citizen of this great country. How dare the government offer information about an individual's rights! What are they doing? Running some kind of building filled with books for learning and other dumb stuff like that? How dare they!

3. Not everyone is healthy enough to get to a testing site.
4. Not everyone can get to a testing site should be a basic fact that is a starting point for discussion. Why I have to elaborate on common ground is beyond me.

You go door to door OFFERING testing so that people who won't or can't come to testing stations have the OPPORTUNITY
to get tested. Ain't rocket science and it isn't being FORCED on you.

You know not everyone will know they have the disease right? Or that people have that much social capital? Seriously this is actually a public health crisis prior to COVID-19. Social isolation is really sad. It has effects similar to that of a heart attack.

They do, but I get the impression you're just saying that so you can prime yourself to think of any position other than your own as a nonstarting position.

 

You get tested so we can determine herd immunity and have records and data for the health system to
know if there is any validity to long term immunity or if the immunity is short lived.

It's crazy that the same people who want 20 guns for protection on the 1,000 to one chance they might be threatened, don't want to know if they have possibly immunity from passing on a disease to other family members or friends.

Cant help but think it would become a slush fund. Whenever I see someone wanting to allocate a huge sum of money to be managed by a select committee of bureaucrats that would dole it at as grants to anyone that comes knocking I think: its just going to become a slush fund for the cronies of whoever is approving the grant requests.
