    This is an old Russian tradition – arresting scientists.

    Many famous Russian scientists were arrested in Russia during communist regime: Andrey Tupolev (aircraft designer),, Nikolay Polikarpov (aircraft designer), Sergey Korolev (responsible for the first human spaceflight) and many more.
