White House warns Russia may use chemical weapons in Ukraine (msn.com)
The Biden administration publicly warned Wednesday that Russia might seek to use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine as the White House rejected Russian claims of illegal chemical weapons development in the country it has invaded.

This week, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova — without evidence — accused Ukraine of running chemical and biological weapons labs with U.S. support. White House press secretary Jen Psaki called Russia’s claim “preposterous” and said it could be part of an attempt by Russia to lay the groundwork for its own use of such weapons of mass destruction against Ukraine.

“This is all an obvious ploy by Russia to try to justify its further premeditated, unprovoked, and unjustified attack on Ukraine,” Psaki tweeted Wednesday. “Now that Russia has made these false claims, and China has seemingly endorsed this propaganda, we should all be on the lookout for Russia to possibly use chemical or biological weapons in Ukraine, or to create a false flag operation using them.”

What that could mean is that Putin would go to extremes to get his way.

This is how "non-Nazis" fight. The troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are deployed in residential buildings. Hiding behind a human shield of civilians. And Western propaganda blames the Russians for this.

you will be surprised how strong the patriotism of the Russians. They are used to living under sanctions pressure. Last 15 years. various sanctions were constantly introduced in order to undermine the economy and morale of Russia. But all this only brings people together. Russians see hostility from the West. Often unreasonably and for invented reasons. "highly likely" - it's already memes.

actually, one would not be surprised.........as they have been "programmed " to believe things about the west that are not true..........but they believe them anyhow. due to the information control in place. It might be different this time........as most of the planet is against this action...and Russia is getting very isolated now.

I can just as well say that Americans are zombies and believe the lies that feed them "free media". They, for example, believe in a kind of "isolation of Russia." Without bothering to look at the political map of the world. That's where information control is - ignoring information. Something not convenient from the point of view of Western propaganda is ignored.
I've come across this many times here on the forum.

Not yet. Russia is a big country. The closure of international destinations increase domestic tourism.
But European companies also have to fly around Russia, which increases the cost and time for the flight. There, too, many people are waiting for ruin.

Perhaps the difference is that in a democracy ......folks can question the validly of the information.............while in a dictatorship........... even questioning.......let alone opposing is grounds for incarceration. A t of folks are being incarcerated just for protesting this invasion. That is as good as evidence that the Putin regime is threatened by anyone questioning or opposing his actions.

Living in fear of saying what one thinks..........is a questionable quality of life. But then many are used to it.....and don't even know any different.

In YOUR democracy, people don't want to verify information. Many times on this forum I met the answer to my links with evidence as: "I will not watch this because everything Russians write is a lie."
That's how you've been brainwashed by propaganda that you don't want to watch something that contradicts your paradigm.
Here is another trick used by your propaganda. Tell half the truth. There is a criminal article, but not for the fact that they express their opinion. They are persecuted for spreading fakes that harm the country. A person who understands what is happening in Ukraine will not oppose the immediate withdrawal of troops.

This "pacifist" will be imprisoned. Although the girl will be sure that she was imprisoned because she is against the war.
In all honesty, tell me how you would deal with such a "demonstrator" in your country - did you fulfill his requirements or treated him with a rubber bullet?

why didn’t you talk about inhumanity when people were killed in the Donbass for 8 years. Where was democracy when all these years civilians were excommunicated from democratic institutions of power and called terrorists?

It's time to honestly answer the question: why did Russia decide on a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine? What is its motives and driving force?
    PART 1
They brought together all the motivation that lay on the table of the supreme commander in chief, and also added what was revealed at the time of the operation.

    FIRST QUESTION.
UKRAINIAN ULTRA RIGHT AND THE NUCLEAR BOMB

Ukraine, with US support, began developing a nuclear weapons program. The main danger in this is not even the nuclear weapons themselves, but the radical ultra-right elements that have seized all branches of power in Ukraine.
Representatives of these organizations at the basic level hate Russia and Russians: it was from such organizations that two SS divisions were created after the German invasion of Ukraine. It was they who destroyed the Russian population of Ukraine in 1941-1944. It was they who shouted "Muscovite to Gilyak" on the Maidan.
An easy way to define a modern Ukrainian fascist is to use the greeting “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!”, originally used as a greeting password among members of the OUN and UPA at the beginning of World War II.

By the scale of use of this “password”, one can easily understand the extent to which nationalism has reached in Ukraine. Furthermore,
they openly acknowledge their ultra-right, nationalist ideology. Everyone who has eyes and ears sees it. Including - in Ukraine. Look, they ask not to call Russians "fascists" / "Nazis" - because this concept is occupied by the "zahistniks" of Ukraine.

Can Russia afford nationalist neighbors with nuclear weapons?
This is the first question that everyone who reads these lines should ask themselves. In Russia, Europe and Ukraine. The Russians have answered this question many times - to themselves and to the whole world. Russians at the basic, genetic level do not accept fascism and nationalism in all its manifestations. Russia has suffered a lot from European nationalism.
And many times cleared "enlightened Europe" from this evil. This evil has reared its head again. And this head will fall, no matter what. And the Russians are ready to pay any price for the destruction of fascism.

I won't dismiss the concern but don't accept it as the real reason for Russia's action. Otherwise, that would have been the first and foremost demand from Russia before moving in to Ukraine. And would have been the focus of the demands to bring about a ceasefire.

Russia made grave tactical errors in the conduct of this war and is making grave strategic errors too. Meeting with Bennet and the Israelis to develop talking points won't change that.

this is not the only reason. This is just the first part. But Nuclear safety has become a decisive reason for action. For 7 years, Ukraine has been delaying the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Russia did not have another 7 years to delay the solution of the issue of weapons.
Nuland recognized the existence of biological laboratories (Not one, not ten - many more) - it is also a threat to use biological weapons.

If Putin is so concerned about ending fascism maybe he should start by resigning and allowing free and fair elections.

exactly!! ......start by removing himself.........but that is not his motive. His motive is abut his grandiose ideas about restoring Russia to a previous and outdated era......of Czars. He has a romanticized notion of that era when in his mind is all glorious and powerful. This nazi nonsense and other "ensues" are just spin for his own populations consumption.

I mean… I’m not from the USA but their elections seem relatively free. It would be nice to see more than two parties represented but that’s not really the topic at hand.
