If Putin doesn't want Ukraine, Then explain why has Putin ordered Russia to attack Ukraine? There must be a reason for this.

What is this constant fixation you have with US nuclear missiles in Ukraine? These are the facts;

1) There are currently no short range nuclear missile systems deployed in Europe by anyone but Russia! The only US nuclear weapons in Europe at the moment is a small number of aircraft bombs (type B-61).

2) There have not been any short or medium range nuclear missile systems deployed anywhere in Europe for decades.

3) There currently are no plans to place such systems anywhere in Europe at any time in the foreseeable future. In fact to the best of my knowledge the US doesn't currently even possess a land based, short/medium range ballistic missile system and is not in the process developing or deploying one.

4) NATO members including the Baltic States, Turkey and Norway already share common borders with Russia. So if the US really wanted to place such missiles close to Russia's borders it could have done so already. It doesn't need Ukraine to do this.

5) Placing nuclear missiles in Ukraine offers no advantage to the US or NATO in terms of its offensive or defensive strikes at Russia and land based short/medium range nuclear missiles are not currently part of NATOs nuclear deterrent strategy. That strategy is based on it's existing arsenal of long range land, sea and air based systems.

So for the love of God will you please stop harping on about the imaginary threat posed by a system that doesn't exist, isn't being built and isn't needed by the US. This fantasy of yours about short ranged nuclear missiles has been your 'go to' excuse for justifying Putin's invasion of Ukraine from day one. And when backed into a corner about Russia's justification for the war you constantly repeat this fiction as if doing so often enough will make it true! It won't.

One more time. There are no such missiles, they don't exist and they cannot be used as a justification for this war.

The really stupid thing about this war? Given an alternate (non Putin) history Russia could have invited to join the EU by now, perhaps longer term even NATO. 'Destroy' might overly pessimistic as far as some of those names on the list are concerned. Only Russia really has the capacity to 'destroy' the US at the moment (albeit only at the cost of suffering even worse fatalities itself). China doesn't have enough long range weapons to 'destroy' the US as yet. It's working on it but at the moment it while it has the ability to destroy many of the US's largest cities it can't devastate the entire country. However in terms of deterrence that is really all it needs needs to be able to do. Same for the NATO Members and Israel. North Korea? Give it a couple of years and it might be able to get a few nuclear warheads all the way to the US East Coast which is bad enough but in turn it could be glassed. (The only thing preventing that would be the natural US's desire not to contaminate allied nations in the region with fallout.

 

The US is not a problem here. We're discussing the Putin War. Comrade Putin tries to rebuild his Russian empire which got lost in the 1990s. He won't stop his aggression with Ukraine. His next target is Moldova.
