I bet this a top priority project for the Ukraine. They can not do it from the air apparently. They might need some very gutsy boys to do it on foot, knowing they will get killed.
That is a prime special OP target.

So hard to say what might be available to them. They've had success using those Turkish drones, and I imagine they can continue using those even with their airfields knocked out.

Ukraine's Chief Rabbi condemns violence, says three missiles have hit a scared memorial in Kyiv

From CNN's Tim Lister in Kyiv

Moshe Reuven Azman, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, has condemned the missile attack close to the Babyn Yar memorial in Kyiv, saying three missiles hit the area.

"War crimes are taking place here," he said in a video statement on his Facebook page.

"The Russian army, which fought the fascists in 1941, is bombing the civilians of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa. Just now the Babyn Yar was shelled. Three missiles hit the place."

"Babyn Yar - this is symbolic. Babyn Yar is a place where 200,000 innocent elderly, women and kids lie," he added.

Between 1941 and 1943, the Nazis shot tens of thousands of people at Babyn Yar, including almost the entire Jewish population of Kyiv, according to the memorial's official website.

"I’m constantly receiving calls from Jews, not just Jews, Ukrainians and Russians from all over Kyiv asking for help," the Rabbi said.

"They need humanitarian aid. Every day I’m trying to help. The elderly [are] calling saying they don’t have the necessary medicines, mothers [are] calling saying they don’t have food for kids, they are suffering from the shelling."

Azman's Facebook video continued with the Rabbi pledging to no longer keep quiet amid the violence.

"I’ve kept silent for a long time, I will not anymore. I address you, dear Russians, dear Jews, everybody who’s not indifferent: those, who silently agree with what’s happening or those who stay indifferent - are complicit in this military crime. crime against humanity. I’m only saying what I see. I’m not afraid to die. I could never imagine in my worst nightmare that I could die under Russian shelling."

So I've been asked what my advice would be to civilian resistors in Ukriane, especially Kyiv. Someone with no military training but wanting to resist. Here are a few things #Kyiv #UkraineUnderAttack :

You have the power but you have to fight smart. The urban defense is hell for any soldier. It usually take 5 attackers to 1 defender. Russians do not have the numbers. Turn Kyiv and any urban area leading to Kyiv into a porcupine.

Go out and build obstacles in the streets! Start with any bridge you can find (they should have been destroyed). Block them with cars, trucks, concrete, wood, trash, anything! Then block any spot in the city where there are tall buildings on each side. Already tight areas.

If it is a street you still need to use. Build a S pattern obstacle that still slows a vehicle down. Think police check point (which you could set up if you wanted to catch saboteurs before military reach your location)

Once you have obstacles (never stop building). I really mean thousands of barriers/obstacles. You can decided places to fight. Places to shoot from or ambush any soldier or vehicle that stops or slows down at your obstacles.

Do NOT stand in the open and shoot or throw anything (to include molotov cocktail) at a Russian soldier or vehicles. Shoot from windows, behind cars, around alleyway corners. Build positions (concrete best) to fire from.

You must prepare for the Russians to start using artillery to help their troops. Make sure the places you choose to shoot from are strong. If in a building, make holes in the walls so you can shoot from and bigger ones to move to other rooms or buildings. You must survive.

    John Spencer

Yes, use your molotov cocktails. Think about where you will stand to throw (then run). Dropping from windows above vehicles most ideal. Vehicles without weapons on top the most vulnerable, but if it is armor, choose where to hit.

Form into groups. Ideally 3 to 5 and decided where to shoot at Russians from. You get to decide. Best if coordinated with another group and using your obstacles to slow something and shoot at from concealed and protected positions.

Again, your survival to fight is important so think hard about where you will shoot from. Elevated positions down long streets. Shoot and run. Ambushes. Aim for the windows and doors of non-armor vehicles. Soldiers in open. One of the greatest fears of a soldier is a sniper.

You are not a sniper, but you can put fear in their hearts if they think there are snipers everywhere. Again take care of yourselves to be able to resist. Drink water. 3 days without water and you won't be able to fight. More later.

LOL. The Mujahadeen polished Russia's ass before kicking it out of Afghanistan.

Newsflash: NO ONE RESPECTS RUSSIANS RIGHT NOW. QUITE LITERALLY NO ONE.

Probably not, but Putin's strategy does not seem very rational. This is a very odd war.

Of course, he may think that NATO will eventually take direct military action so he can escalate.

Has anyone with sources in the Russian government suggested that Putin may have a terminal illness?

It is the only thing they can do. If they can 10-20 guys to that convoy and attack it at night, they could do huge damage and it would be a horrific blow to the moral. Those are not combat soldiers; they are supply studs. it would be total panic. In my opinion that is their only option.

They will also have a hell of a time assaulting the city. A bunch of dumb kids who don't even know why they're there, sent into a city of fanatic defenders to conduct urban warfare.

It won't be pretty. Russia's military also doesn't have a lot of experience with this in general. Syria is about all they have recently, and Ukrainian resistance has to be a lot more fierce, coordinated and better equipped than anything they have faced in Syria.

Yes if they get into a city it will be a completely different party, if that city will fight.
Then it becomes for those draftees a horrific nightmare, no combat experience, lousy training, not really into it and facing people who are highly motivated, even as untrained, horrible

When the US had to urban warfare in Iraq, they had professional soldiers, with the finest equipment, personal communications, sights and so on and still it was a slugfest to dig out those under equipped combatants. That had to be done house by house and the US used very well trained pros.
With draftees, the loses could be horrendous.

Ukraine War - Surveillance Drone Records Strikes On Russian Military Vehicles

Surveillance Drone footage released by a Pro-Ukrainian source shows a series of alleged drone strikes on Russian military vehicles in a undisclosed location.

What we can get from the strikes is that mainly Russian MRAP and Trucks were targeted by the strikes.

Ukraine recently released several videos of Turkish made Bayraktar TB2 drones conducting strikes on Russian military vehicles but we can not say for sure that TB2 were involved this time.

Based on the damage dealt by the strikes it is also possible that the drone could have directed some other type of fire such as mortars for example.

If Russia can't counter the Bayraktar drones, they will continue to be hurting pretty badly.

I think Kyiv has to be a long-term play for Russia, not a rush job. They would have to successfully cut it off from the rest of Ukraine's forces and get sufficient troops and firepower to besiege it. Otherwise, what can they do except bomb it into submission by killing basically everyone who could possibly put up a fight?

I do not see Ukrainians reporting a 40 mile long column. They have their own satellite and they read news, so they can’t be missing this column.
    I have three theories:
    1. Ukrainians are nibbling on the column constantly, and destroyed columns with armored vehicles are reported on daily. The road in the picture is very narrow, so bombing the head of the column significantly slows it down. Also, distance from Kyiv to Belarus is just 250 miles - they should have been by Kyiv a long time ago.
    2. Ukrainians were complaining about Russian fighter jets flying over nuclear power plants while attacking Ukrainian targets, pretty much hiding behind a nuclear reactor, because crashing an aircraft loaded with fuel and weapons into that thing is a very bad idea. The column is close to Chernobyl, so Ukrainians are waiting for it to get closer for them to attack further away from the nuclear power plant.
    3. The column is fake news, which is not completely crazy because a 40 mile column is like 1/6th the path from the border to the capital, hardly something local territorial defense units (paramilitary groups like Azov) would let slip by without inflicting opportunistic attacks by the locals, which on such narrow road, would literally result in blocking itself with own destroyed vehicles.

Im beginning to think #3 is the case, but who knows? We will find out soon enough.

And the latest from a Greek site:

In addition to the massive 16 kilometer long convoy heading to Kiev from the South, there are now two tank brigades entering Ukraine from Belarus with 300 tanks and support vehicles, as well as the Russian airborne division in the North and East. The Ukrainian forces are being caught in a cauldron - which is how the Russians work. The Russians believe they'll be able to liquidate the regimes forces in 24 hours.

The real problem is Mariupol with the neo Nazi Azov battalion. The Russians made a "peace corridor" with the local commander of Mariupol so the people could leave, but he is still receiving orders from Kiev. So the Russians are fearful that Azov might have a mass execution to put the blame on the Russians.
