The National Interest is journal dedicated to American foreign policy. It was founded by neo-con Irving Kristol, and is associated with the 'realist' approach to foreign policy. Along with Foreign Affairs, it's required reading, in my opinion, for anyone interested in this subject. The latest issue has what I think is a plausible explanation for continued Russian 'meddling' in US elections, and a statement of just what that meddling consists of. The article was written by George Beebe, described as " director of the Center for the National Interest’s intelligence program. He formerly served as chief of Russia analysis at the CIA, and as special advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney on Russia and the former Soviet Union." So his opinion is worth consulting.
