    Russia’s War Against Rainbows

    By MASHA GESSEN

This makes me really sad, because Russia fought very bravely -- with a big human sacrifice -- against the Fascists hordes.

What on Earth is happening in Russia?

I understand Russian politicians are worried because of shrinking population, but there is no good in trying to fight homosexuality. You can't make, or unmake, a homosexual. That's a fact.

Besides, Russia has a lot of orphans -- if homosexuals could marry they can adopt these children and raise them in a stable and loving family, which is good for entire Russian society.

I am not sure your point is clear on this one. If you are meaning Nazi was against homosexuality-so what? Nazis also was against poverty and for good roads. Should we now be for poverty and against good roads? You played your Nazi card too early then.

We are not "shirking" population. The decrease should be 150000-120000 this year (previous one was 200 000), which would be overtaken by immigration.
    It is not a fact.
I almost threw up. I'm Sorry, but my understanding family - it's a dad and a mom, not two dads or two moms.

Anyway - believe it or not - majority don't want open showing of untraditional sexual orientation. We are sort of democracy, you know.....so.
I basically don't care who with whom is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing in their houses, if both are competent. But please, deliver me from this.

"The fall of morality is regarded today in Russia as one of the biggest losses incurred during the last 20 years. The Russians call themselves opponents of the majority of actions and events that are considered to be immoral, or at least unethical. Among the unconditional taboo are the drug use, homosexual relations, the use of sexual relations in order to achieve selfish goals (90%, 87% and 77% respectively)." http://vedma2860.livejournal.com/110944.html

Let every nation have their own idea of morality.
