Hooray! Sounds like the cavalry may coming to the rescue yet.

My dream of a contested convention has just been resurrected.

    Oh noze!

Is GOP savior Paul Ryan just another RINO in an elephant suit?

Ryan couldn't cut it with Romney, they lost, so cares what he has to say about Trump? That would be like us listing every Democrat Senator and Congresscritter who backs Sanders and proclaiming they can't support Hillary right now, well they probably could, liberals are all hypocrites anyway...

Congress barely has a double digit approval rating. The people don't care what they say anymore.

Does trump know he has to work with congress if elected or does he plan to rule as an emperor?

He knows. I just don't see Paul Ryan moving a whole lot of votes.

How can trump get anything done if he can't even agree with his own party?

He'll have to rally support from the other side on some things.

I think Ryan wants to influence Trump's VP pick.

Sounds like Ryan just doesn't want the GOP establishment to look like they were trampled over. Which they were. :)

It never died, Bernie said the Democratic convention will be a "contested contest". You will certainly have your Democratic contested convention. Bernie said so himself. :)

No kidding. He's but one tiny portion of the huge reason Trump has won the nomination.

GOP: Sit down and shut up!

    - - - Updated - - -

It's simple. If they don't fall in line with what We, the People elect, we'll get rid of them. That's how elections work, or at least that's how they're supposed to work. Election reform should be one of Trump's #1 things to tackle.

What are you babbling about?

    Your premise was shot down.

Ryan just doesn't want to be swept aside.

Maybe Kasich on the ticket will make him feel better?

Sounds like Ryan is saying he wants to get his before he gets behind Trump.

An emperor implies a kind of noble and respected tradition. I'm expecting something more like a dictator who has legislators working under threat.

This is just the type of (*)(*)(*)(*) people dislike about the GOP elite. They'll bow to liberals in a heart beat but seem more than willing to crap on the voters who've overwhelmingly voted for Trump in the primaries. It's pretty obvious the establishment GOPer's are more than willing to screw their constituents again, the only question is will they? Or, more specifically, will they hand Hillary the presidency on a silver platter or won't they?

What? Ryan's the one hedging his support, not Trump. Or did you miss that?

I suppose if Tip O'Neil could find a way to work with Ronald Reagan in the interest of our country, Ryan should do so for the same reason.

Ryan has someone preparing to run against him right now and he will do very good. The supporters of Trump, which are very much in the majority, also get to vote on these fake conservatives that hate on Trump, i.e., Ryan, McConnell, Graham, etc. Ryan is showing his complete disregard for the very people that he is supposed to represent as Speaker of the House. But then, he always has.

Don't know much about emperors, do you? The samurai had the right, with the emperor's approval, to lop off the head of a peasant anytime they felt like it.

lmao. This is sooooo much better than a contested convention. Its basically the party so disgusted with trump's pig stench that they won't even be showing up.

    hahahahahahhahahahaha. I love it.

The republicans had over a dozen potential picks...and a couple could have EASILY beat Hillary Clinton. Instead, the party of stupid nominates trump in the most obnoxious, pathetic primary ever run. Now they've got a candidate who's so moronic and gross that THEY can't even stand him and are revolting in huge numbers.

And what does the stooge trump do? He doubles down on stupid and further antagonizes the people who aren't showing up....too funny.

This is going to be the best s**t show EVER. And Liberals can sit back and enjoy it because Democrats will be taking the White House.

To make it even funnier...real conservatives are rapidly looking for someone...ANYONE...else to vote for.

So now trump has alienated minorities, women and actual conservatives.

All day today, the news is playing nothing but the defectors from the republican convention and voting for trump...including every recent Republican President and Presidential nominee.

lmao. I'd actually feel sorry for the republican party if it wasn't for the fact that trump is what you get when you pander to the dregs of America. Guess they finally figured out that xenophobia, racism, misogyny and hate-mongering isn't a good strategy for winning a general election.

I agree, Ryan's just an establishment puppet who'll do whatever the establishment big dogs tell him to do. I'm sure he had deep conservative convictions at some point, but he's obviously no longer willing to stand up for them.....now he just works for the GOP & is just another weak kneed Rep.
