    So says Sandra Hutchens, Sheriff of Orange County, on the July 16th edition of Tucker Carlson:
    So apparently it is now more important for California to give the Trump administration the proverbial finger than to see to the safety of its citizens? Yet another indication that the left is now completely out of touch with the needs of those they supposedly represent.

    Thoughts?

    Do you have something apart from Fox News that is a similar article/interview that can be taken seriously?

    ICE needs to be defunded and rendered extinct, so I don't understand why the outrage over not being able to notify ICE. Stopping the Trump deportation machine should be the priority of any patriotic American, whoever drafted this bill is doing more of a service.

    I think the underlying message they want us to take away from their commentary on this subject is that they hate Americans and put foreigners who illegally entered our country first.

    Agree. Like the Sheriff said, he doesn't do immigration enforcement. He notifies ICE of violent criminals who are in custody.

    If Obama had approved of the same process, California would be fine with it because ... well ... Obama. But because Trump is the president, not Obama ... it's "different".

    If I harbored a criminal that burned down the local Planned Parenthood abortion mill, and I was caught doing this, would I go off scott- free? There is absolutely no difference between me doing that, than what so called sanctuary cities are doing.

    The sheriff in question was being interviewed on Fox News. I'm sure she's provided similar statements elsewhere, and I provided a link to the Tucker Carlson show on which she made these statements. If you still can't take her statements seriously, that's not my problem.

    Exactly. Not only that, but the people interested in actually performing the function of law enforcement are now going to find it difficult to do so in California. The state has gone completely wacko.

    Yes. And because it's Trump, the safety of Californians suddenly becomes a non consideration. It's daft in the extreme.

    But as this sheriff in Orange County says, this is putting her in the terrible position of being unable to uphold both state and federal law. It's not the mayors and sheriffs who are causing the problem, they are the ones who will end up having to deal with the brunt of it. The sheer stupidity of such a bill is mind boggling.

    Until the Federal govt. is willing to provide States and local municipalities the funds and resources and infrastucture they would need to detain EVERY single illegal immigrant they arrest, they can go **** off

    I agree the Fed should supply funds, Then we could get a lot more than a phone call about some illegal's temporarily incarcerated. What you don't get is that most of these local law enforcement agencies just wants them out of their jurisdiction so not to have repeat events.
