Not only that, but he voted for Bush's perscription drug program. Apparently he only thinks government isn't the solution...some of the time.

While it's 100% true that anybody who still supports Obama is a massive hypocrite, Santorum deserves to be attacked for his hypocrisy. Some of his message sounds nice on paper, but what he practices is very different from what he preaches. There's a special place in Hell for political leaders like that.

When times are good, every Republican feels charitable (if they can deduct it). But who needs charity when times are good?

    Santorum is a wet POS.

    The true GOOD Republican does

I attacked the day he released his taxes..
That is where the car he drives was exposed..he didn't reveal that on his own did he ?
He didn't reveal he has as many homes as Romney owns..
Santorum didn't reveal he made almost 1 million a year as a Washington DC. Consultant.
20 years in Washington..the same old story..it wasn't his fault.

Funny how the Blind sheep still graze on what this guy is selling.

The Republican way is to make things unnecessarily difficult for people..that is, people who don't own a lot. So perhaps.

So poor people should rely on Republicans who feel "good".

    What a depressing thought.

Why should they not be treated fairly and equitably by a society that IS "good"?

Because yer philosophy that Government is a good provider
Sucks.Government is a good spender of money it confiscates
from those who earn.Giving to Charity is the best way to provide
immediate funds to a problem, like providing food & shelter in the
form of soup kitchens and shelters or orphanages.
Look at all the good Mother Teresa did with her Sisters of Charity.
Literally saving the lives of millions, worldwide.
Kindly explain how that was not prudent.Because you seem to infer
that giving to Charities in this Country isn't a very good way of
    solving many social ills.

The democrats have been waging a war on poverty for 60 years, there are more poor people today than 60 years ago. Maybe thats why republicans do not believe in the government!

Of course, being Republican, the government exists only to hand out subsidies to useless industries and taxbreaks to billionaires.

And, being Republican, you dream up inferences no-one made.

In developing nations charities do a whole lot in helping more than government, but in industrialized nations the government does provide more help than charities on the larger scale through welfare.

Real wages have also been stagnant in the lower/middle classes for how long? Clearly we can't rely on the market either.

And Democrats want Americans dependent on government welfare so they can try to control them. It should be obvious to people by now.

You accuse the government of giving with strings attached, but you claim that churches and the charity industry will give without any strings attached?
That's not only ridiculous, it's delusional.
