Rare.us | MALKIN: John Kerry throws freedom-seeking women under the bus

On a recent trip to Saudi Arabia, John Kerry said he will not help the women of Saudi Arabia to be able to drive themselves. Women are enslaved and stuck in their homes because they can not drive unless a man is driving them. Which in many cases women are held hostaged, forced to pay large fees, and in some cases much worst. Kerry needs to step in to help, not just talk about it over "lunch"

Let's revisit history...Here's what the press said about Bush...

In April 2002, as Crown Prince Abdallah of Saudi Arabia, the country's effective ruler, was about to travel across Texas to visit President George W. Bush, an advance group talked to the airport manager in Waco (the airport serving the President's ranch in Crawford) "and told him they did not want any females on the ramp and also said there should not be any females talking to the airplane."[2] The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at Waco complied with this request and passed it to three other FAA stations on the crown prince's route, which also complied. Then, when queried about this matter, both the FAA and the State Department joined the Saudi foreign minister in flat-out denying that there ever was a Saudi request for male-only controllers.

The import of these incidents is clear enough: Official Americans in Saudi Arabia bend to Saudi customs, and official Americans in the United States do so as well. And it's not just a matter of travel etiquette; one finds parallel American obsequiousness concerning such issues as energy, security, religion and personal status. The Saudis routinely set the terms of this bilateral relationship. For decades, U.S. government agencies have engaged in a consistent pattern of deference to Saudi wishes, making so many unwonted and unnecessary concessions that one gets the impression that a switch has taken place, with both sides forgetting which of them is the great power and which the minor one.

Yet.....the story on the Saudi/Kerry recent face to face (In Saudi Arabia) completely ignores Kerry's refusal to address women's issues in Saudi Arabia.

It is obvious that the main stream media template is to protect liberal Democrats.

There were dozens of women on the Tarmac who came to meet Abdullah.. and the King was thrilled to see them.. The women had lived and worked in Arabia for decades.

Daniel Pipes got it wrong and so did the idiots at the State Dept.

They also told everyone that the SAG hated the color green.. I was howling with laughter.. The flag of KSA is green.

Kerry went to talk about Iran, Syria and the Palestinian peace talk.. It would have been completely inappropriate to inject women's rights...

What does that have to do with my post regarding the main stream media reporting of Saudi American relations Bush vs Obama?

And thousands of Saudi women are engaged in a struggle just to be able to drive a car right now. Kerry was questioned about it and went into evasive mode. I that were Bush, you can bet the main stream media would be all over him like flies on manure. That's my point here. With Bush you HEARD about the foibles constantly from the media, with Obama it's all hush hush in the MSM.

Both Abdullah and Salman are reformers and they want women to be able to drive in the near future. There is NO reason for the US to meddle..

I was questioned about women's rights at a huge press conference... I said the people of KSA would sort it out for themselves and we should mind our own business.

When there's wrong going on in the world, should we keep quiet?

As the quote goes: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. "

Unfortunately you are not in the same group as good people are.

You lived in KSA. KSA bans women from driving. Is that because Muhammad said in multiple Sahih hadith that women are deficient in intelligent?

In your defense of Islam, I see you always stop responding after I prove you wrong and you disappear from those discussions.

What is your point? That Kerry should meddle in an internal cultural issue?

I am not a fan of Kerry.. but he handled this perfectly.

It should be obvious to anyone that Kerry is looking like a hypocrite here ignoring the struggle of Saudi women while touting so-called 'feminism' along party lines here in the US. He ought to make strong statements regarding human rights with regard to Saudi women when questioned about it instead of the 'just let them work it out themselves' and, claiming that sometime 'in the future' Saudi women will be able to DRIVE A CAR!!!!

This is just an extension of the whole liberal, secular humanist, whacko-enviromental liberal Democrat policies. Because powerful liberals refuse to let US drill for more oil, build more refineries and promote nuclear energy, we are beholding to the Cartel. God forbid we actually question their human rights violations.....

Complete insanity.....Which is why I always say.....Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder (also a book by Michael Savage).

He never said it was in the USA (duh).

Did you Michael Savage that you copy paste from Muslim websites to defend Islam on the internet?

Have you told ANYONE in real life that you defend pedophiles? (like Muhammad who married 9 year old Aisha when he was 54)

Now you'll stop responding to this thread too because you have no answers in the face of truth.

I couldn't care less. I just don't think that a representative of the U.S. should be so complacent, when queried, on the rights of any human being anywhere in the world. Also, my other point is how the MSM in the U.S. turns a blind eye to liberal hypocrites like Kerry.

Chicken and egg argument. If the U.S. were to open up all energy avenues and drastically reduce imports of oil (crude or refined) production would chug along just fine...here in the U.S.

Really? Where and when? I will ask him.

The US has the highest extraction costs in the world.

By keeping silent on the issue of women driving.. Kerry shows respect for the Saudis and empowers them to move forward....

So if you saw a baby being beheaded you would "show respect" for the murderer by being being silent and ignoring what was happening.

You'd have to have the same morals as the criminal in order to do that.

And in your typical defense of Islam, you ignored Muhammad saying that women are deficient in intelligence. Quick, Google up some Muslim websites and tell me what they say about that.
