Second death, more accusations sharpen focus on Ed Buck, California Democratic megadonor



Deputies in West Hollywood responded early Monday morning to a report of a person not breathing at Buck's home, and county firefighters pronounced the man dead. The cause of the death will be determined by the coroner, according to Nicole Nishida, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department, and investigators have not released the man's identity.

But, critics are questioning whether Buck's race — both men found dead were black — or if his wealth or political ties to the Democratic Party influenced an initial investigation of the 64-year-old who has donated tens of thousands of dollars to a slew of liberal causes and candidates over the years, including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and a who's who of top California politicians.

“He definitely has not been cooperative, as his attorney says. He refused to answer any questions when I tried speaking with him,” Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Investigator Quilmes Rodriguez told Fox News via email Wednesday night.

I think if this involved a white republican donor and two dead (insert preferred minority) women things would be going down differently.

 

If Trump accepted money from this guy, like hillary and obama did, the media would crucify him.

To answer the OP’s poll, in a more nuanced way than the available answers allow. The situation should be investigated and any wrong doing should be prosecuted.

 

And we wonder where liberals get their ideas that the white man is still keeping the minorities down from....

according to wiki, he has given $30,000 to democratic candidates and causes over the years. not sure that exactly qualifies as “megadonor.”

he was once a republican and switched sides in the ‘80s citing homophobia in the GOP.

 

Surely we’re are not going to use the actions of the few to denigrate the whole... yet again. Both sides have enough skeletons in their closet. Do we really need to start throwing the bones around?

The question becomes dead of what? With Drug addicts a host of things are possible, and I whole heartedly agree that if he were a Republican Donor in CA he'd have been hit with murder 1 the first time, and the papers would have had max font headlines and lurid pictures. His reticence however is troubling. None the less I am not going to judge anyone before the investigation is complete.

Although Buck has given more than $500,000 to Democratic candidates and groups over the years, a number of politicians returned those donations after Fox News’ reporting on Moore’s death. Buck’s own congressman, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, who received $2,700 in 2016, previously told Fox News that he donated the full amount to an LGBT nonprofit. A campaign spokesperson for Arizona Sen. Krysten Sinema told Fox last year that she donated $18,800 she’d received from Buck to the UMOM New Day Center.

In addition, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti told Fox News that he returned a $1,400 donation from Buck last year. The first elected official to return a donation from Buck was California Rep. Karen Bass, who gave her $250 donation to Moore’s family well over a year ago. Rep. Ted Lieu of California recently told the Associated Press that he was “deeply disturbed” by the disclosure of a second death at Buck’s home and was giving Buck’s donations to charity.

Still, not every politician repudiated Buck. West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman previously told Fox News that he had “no intention” of returning a $500 donation he received from Buck. Cannick, on her website, has a list of political figures and organizations that have received donations from him and whether or not they have been returned.

Some democrats returned the donations, and some gave it to charity.... Not Hillary, and not Obama..... They kept the money.....

 

So, ironically.... the cause of death will likely be shown to have happened as a result of Ed's insistence on playing with the bones... so to speak.... Of course his political clout will ensure that this now dead sex worker's death won't be the end of Ed's leisure time pursuits...

i don’t think they have yet even identified the cause of death, so it may be a bit early to speculate on drugs involved or their origin.

Even if we ignore the fact that there was a dead prostitute in his bed, the drugs found on the scene alone should’ve been enough to warrant charges as the multiple plastic bags would land anyone else with not only possession charges but intent to distribute. But there have been none.

 

Death follows the Clintons.

 

If he’s guilty of anything he should be prosecuted.
