According to Yahoo News https://www.yahoo.com/news/senate-report-on-cia-torture-1429636113023030.html , which first reported the news on Monday, the CIA admitted to accidentally deleting a document and destroying a disk that contained the report on Gesta...,sorry,CIA torture.

The report “includes comprehensive and excruciating detail” of interrogation techniques used on 119 individuals held during that period.

Among the executive summary’s findings were that interrogators used “wallings” (slamming detainees against walls), sleep deprivation, nudity, waterboarding and rectal feeding.

“The waterboarding technique was physically harmful, inducing convulsions and vomiting,” the summary found.

“Internal CIA records describe the waterboarding of (one detainee) as evolving into a ‘series of near drownings’.”

Other detainees were given ice water baths and placed inside a coffin-shaped box. The impacts were long-lasting.

“Throughout the program, multiple CIA detainees who were subjected to the CIA’s enhanced interrogation techniques and extended isolation exhibited psychological and behavioural issues, including hallucinations, paranoia, insomnia, and attempts at self-harm and self-mutilation,” the report read.”

So,the Fourth Re...,sorry, the Kind Empire has concentration camps and practices torture of prisoners.

    Somebody surprised?

    I'm not.

Any world power that does not kill and torture its enemies is not fit to carry that name.

I know a world power that also constantly blames others for things the power always makes itself.

Power is not always power over. Power can also be power to - a liberating power. It is interesting that the US spoke of doing that but became what you admire.

Obviously that is part of being a world power, propaganda is a tool that any responsible world power must use. Including both USA and Russia.

So obviously the consequences for leaking the information contained in the document were worse than the consequences of destroying it... choosing the lesser of two evils makes sense.

I do agree though, America can't really take the high moral ground anymore, they've committed too many human rights offences especially over the last couple of decades
