yeah, had they not disrespectfully parked in a handicap zone to buy some donuts, the violent creep would probably still be alive.

 

again it would depend on what was said...you say you would just walk away but you weren't there and personally involved...I have a good idea what I would do if someone directed a racial insult toward my wife or kids, not too likely I'd walk away...

I'm curious as to why.

Unlike a lot of similar cases, the entire incident was captured on video, without obstructions or anything that would lend much doubt as to what actually happened. Based on my understanding of SYG in Florida, this incident would not fall under either SYR or traditional self defense.

 

So the victim was already in a high state of agitation before leaving the store. This helps the shooter.

 

brandishing a weapon should have landed him in jail already.

 

a child who would learn to be a thug most likely.

 

verbal threats are valid if someone says they're going to assault you...were there witnesses who heard something the video doesn't reveal?...

 

I did not say it excused the assault, just helped me understand the boyfriends state of mind better

just as learning the shooters previous gun reports helps me understand the shooters mind better

yes, it appears he has a problem and a history with menacing people with his gun and making verbal threats

 

I am guessing he was a dick to people, they got angry and he pulled a gun when he felt threatened - and in the end no one wanted to press charges from either side - just a guess

carrying a gun was never meant as a permit to get in peoples faces till you push their buttons enough to pull a gun

had the boyfriend not assaulted him, this case would of probably been like the others, but at some point I think someone was going to get shot if he kept pulling this stuff over and over

 

I had a handicap pass for 5 years and came across many able-bodied buttholes parked in handicap spots, never once did I confront or threaten anyone...that's a job for the police not me...

sounds as if the prosecutor is going to say that based on his past history he was looking to provoke an attack, in that case it could be considered premeditated...

 

I had the perception you would support the shooter regardless of the situation. I was obviously wrong and I wrongfully prejudged you. I was Wrong in doing that.

 

there is nothing wrong with calling someone on asshat behavior. you don’t have to call the cops. just remind them they’re being a jerk. most people will realize yes they are being a jerk.

and this is a example of why it's best not to get involved in such petty disputes, his life is over, as is the boyfriends, over a parking space

even if he beats this charge, his life will never be the same, good luck getting a good job after this

 

im guessing neither of us has all the facts. but the extreme level of violence demonstrated by the deceased indicates to me anyway that it was not his first shove and that escalation would not be a problem.
