I do not and can not deny that men commit much more severe crimes then women. According to FBI crime data, men are guilty of 97% of rape and sexual assault, 88% of murder, and 76.5% of aggravated assault.

Even though 71% of those arrested for simple assault are men, it is possible/likely that women commit most simple assault. For example, according to many women hit their intimate partners more then men. Few of them are arrested.

Nevertheless, the point stands that men commit a big majority of sexual offenses (97%), murder (88%), and aggravated assault (76.5%). According to a 2002 study 6.5% of all men have committed rape. Other studies give higher numbers.

On the other hand, over 80% of men are not guilty of any major crime. Should men who have not committed any crime feel collective guilt on behalf of those who did? Should men view themselves as the morally inferior gender? Should men not complain, when they they are subject to hate due to their gender? Should men tolerate some, supposedly minor forms of abuse without complaining?

No men shouldn't do any of those things. The criminals don't if people think criminals should be treated better than men who aren't criminals i think there is a deeper more existential issue there.

Outside the internet I've never had anyone take issue with my manhood. Just saying.

We are only capable of controlling what we ourselves do. At most, parents and society as a whole can have some responsibility in how they deal with this.

A man take responsibility for his actions. The actions of others are their responsibility. Feeling guilty yourself for what someone else has done is not a healthy state of mind.

Sadly, many or most of young people do view men as the morally inferior gender. Popularity of hashtags like #menaretrash proves that.

I don't follow those circles. So it doesn't bother me.

But I can actually understand that it's a real thing and distressing.

Why would I feel guilty about crimes committed by other people?

I don't think twitter hashtags prove anything.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but men have been the responsible parties for crimes since legal codes were invented. It's part and parcel of every society that's ever existed, so it's certainly not new, so I don't see what point is supposed to be made here. No one has challenged the idea that most crimes (particularly violent crimes) are committed by men.

But the idea that men are the inferior gender is relatively new. Unfortunately, it is very popular in 2023.

Why not work on reducing the amount of crime men commit.
With numbers that high, we all no someone who's committed those types of crimes. Do we say anything or just blow it off?

No reason for guilt. But we should understand why men are so violent.

Unless the skin color of the offender is black. Then it's a the most crucial thing in the world.

I'm not familiar with men being called the "inferior gender." Is this some sort of Reddit talking point?

Yes. Sadly, Racists view African Americans, Jews, and many Minorities as inferior. Racists are evil.

Many young people view male gender as morally inferior. Also evil.

I do not think most men committing crimes would confide to anyone beforehand.

But if a man is in distress, his friends should support him. I would.

Explain yourself. Are people on this forum arguing that just because men commit most of the crimes that they shouldn't be jailed or there are extenuating circumstances to men committing crimes? Do you believe that men don't really commit most crimes and that it's some sort of statistical trick that seems to show that men commit most crimes?

I'm trying to decipher your argument but my suspicion is that you don't have one.

Data shows without any doubts males commit the most crimes. There's no denying that.
When I bring that point up in threads the follow up point made by many is that the highest rate is among black skin people.
And whites doing so is only because males are prone to be more violent by nature and blow off talking about the problem of men committing the most crimes.

So, to many I've interacted with don't care if males commit the most crimes.
Unless they perps are black skin. Then it's a huge problem for some on these forums. And likely that spreads across the population of the country.

So what you are telling me that is that males commit most crimes and black males commit the most crimes, so you are arguing...what? Are you saying we should talk about men but not black men committing crimes?

I've yet to see on this forum anyone argue that men don't commit most crimes, so it's not discussed because there is no disagreement. But there seems to be a lot of disagreement on whether black males commit most crimes.

I don’t really see that come up in my circles. Maybe a bit of selection bias?
