Anyone playing? After you get past all the crashing and not being able to join servers it's actually quite fun.
I have played a much older version of it... had fun, but its not really mu cup of tea. By the way, are the pics screen rips of a game you were playing? If so, you are better at the game than I was.
I have it...EA really dropped the ball on this. Online only DRM is a killer and I hope this game fails as a result. Besides EA is banning people who get refunds from origin. I don't think its legal since that means people are locked out of other games they already purchased.
This appears to have just been a rumor, though with EA, it's always worth checking out. http://kotaku.com/5989299/no-ea-wont-ban-you-on-origin-if-you-ask-for-a-refund-for-simcity
I regard the new Simcity as an MMO, which I think EA should have pushed it as. If they had pushed it as an MMO then people wouldn't have a problem with it being always online.
Is there anything about it that makes it an MMO? Do you have regular contact with other players or depend on them for things?
Well yeah, but even when solo'ing, other players actions can affect you and you're also a part of the same world as everyone else, which means your actions can also affect other players. I was just wondering if that was the case with Simcity. I'm torn whether or not to get this game. I've played Simcity games since the 1st one and I like the game styles, but I don't like the idea of supporting a company that makes me be online to play a single player game if there's really nothing about being online that affects my play. I've read some articles saying that the main reason given by Maxis to be online, that the game offloads calculations to the server to ease the burden on your cpu, is actually bogus.
