    oooohooh! my belly so full!

    I took the last of the rope sausage and chicken that my bro smoked this weekend, and chunked it up, threw it in the skillet with some onions, garlic, cilantro and veggies: broccoli, zucchini, green beans, corn, red and green peppers. It looked amazingly like this:

    scooped up with garlic Texas toast and washed down with ice cold tea!

    Must be the night for smoked sausage! Paired mine with Ranch Style Beans and homemade cole slaw. Mmmmmm, tasty!

    It was, OT.

    Our family is really lucky that my brother likes to smoke. He does it on the weekends and who knows what he might show up on your door step with. With the meat cooked, all ya have to do is add veggies. What a break in this heat!

    This is such an easy fix. Smoked chicken and sausage is quite tasty together and with such flavor, a little goes a long way. Chunk up whatever veggies you like and throw the whole mess in a skillet just long enough to warm the meat and crisp the veggies.

    Do you have access to cilantro up your way? Ever used it? Looks like parsley. Just chop it up and fold in; it really brings all the flavors together nicely

    yummm...
    I got fresh peaches in the frig too...but I'm too full to contemplate it now.

    Smartz ~ I just caught the weather blurb. 63 straight days in triple digits. 69 is the record and we are expected to pass it

    I wish I'd captured the pic off TWC showing where Don made land. Within 15 hrs of hitting the coast the heat had literally sucked the rain out of a tropical storm. I seem to remember clouds out of Ok dying out near Dallas. Tonight there are clouds off in NM, and you can watch them on radar dissipating as they cross into Texas.

    If we can't get some water in here to cool things down, we are left waiting for winter.
    And that sucks!

    We'll be having what Gypzy had last night. Anything with lots of crisp veggies sounds great.
    Can't wait to see what OT brings us for breakfast.

    Still no rain down south? Why don't you guys don some grass skirts and do a rain dance? The rest of us will be with you in thought, from a distance, from far away.

    Good morning, toasty people! 88 degrees at 6:30 this morning. Ridiculous!

    Today's peanut butter day. We're having a food drive the whole month of Aug and today they asked everyone to bring in 2 jars of pb. Ain't it funny a person could actually live on peanut butter? Such a lowly little food that packs so much protein. Hope they collect lots for hungry little children.

    Onward... the hardest part's over... I made it to the office. ;)

    We can't get a break, can we, gypz? Speaking of clouds, see the formation on my avatar? One of my co-workers captured it at the light rail station on his commute. Too kewl, ain't it? When he sent it around, he called it "God blesses Texas!" Amen to that! ;)

    Buffet looks great, OT! Funny you should choose a buffet this morning... last night there was an ad on all the cars in the parking lot... for a lunch buffet at a place we'd never heard of. Looked it up this morning and it's a 'nightclub' that must be trying to drum up some daytime biz. Some of the gals are wondering what they pay their go-go dancers!
