I just gotta say.I almost feel stunned.I'm channel surfing and I stumble
on to a TCM Movie from My era { the 60's } :
    - Two on a Guillotine - { 1965 } starring the ever likeable duo of
Connie Stevens and Dean Jones. Both very pleasant albeit clean-cut
to the core.I couldn't help myself from thinking almost instinctively ...
Whatever happened to Dean Jones ? Or Connie Stevens ? .
I know the cinematic necessity to prey on the raw emotions of
    a public,more intent on Femme Fatal,Vixens,and Babes.
But what about Good Guys. Everyman types.Like a Jimmy Stewart
OR a Dean Jones. I realize Jones is a goody-goody Christian type.
But isn't there a place for that even more today.Spencer Tracy was
    Catholic,but you wouldn't know it if not for - Boys Town - { 1938 }.
Go Figger ? . No ... Let ME do the Figuring. It's What I do.
Because some fellar has to keep after them Figures.
BTW ... Thankfully by the grace of God Both Stevens and Jones are
    with us.
Connie Stevens born { Concetta Rosalie Anna Ingolia } from of
    all places ... Brooklyn,N.Y.
    Go Figger.

Garden suffered a big set back...as did a lot of gardens and farms here. I love rain and will not complain when it rains but the rains were generous and the garden didn't like it. We are trying to salvage what survived and we might get something.. Some of the potatoes rotted, they didn't like the wet ground.
    Coffee first thing is mandatory.

I broke down and bought a couple nice plants at Wal*mart today.
    I hope this isn't contagious.But I fear it is.
I guess there are worse habits.Like going to work and hearing that infernal
Iron whistle to announce Lunch and end of work.

Oh, that stinks. We have a big problem around here with squirrels that destroy everything. They will chew on the flowers and destroy them, eat any kind of vegetable or fruit you try to grow. Although I find them funny to watch sometimes, they can be a HUGE nuisance.

I agree they are cute till they do dollars worth of damage. We have them but they only eat the pecans and acorns. Our two cats and dogs police the squirrel population, they love to chase them.

I like squirrels in the yard,a yard shouldn't be without them but they are
little HoGs.They aggressively go after bird suet.Even when I put out the
lid of a peanut jar with a nice helping of peanut butter they are hOgS.
They also like to run on roofs and act like they own stuff.

Squirrels are feisty indeed. But they are tougher than the East Ender homeless
that Jack London wrote about in - People of the Abyss -.
Reading just a single chapter of that is what those Baltimore Protestors need
a good dose of.That and Salts. The better to make # 2.They so full of it.
    And themselves.

I live next to the woods, and we have WAY too many squirrels. You can have some of them if you like. Just don't try to grow anything. They will devour and destroy ALL of your plants, vegetables, flowers, and fruits. They are insatiable little critters.

I put out sunflower seeds for the birds, but of course, most is eaten by the squirrels. When they run out of seeds, they hit the suet baskets and squirrels would get on the top, hang down and eat and eat and eat. I fixed them... bought an extra large aluminum loaf pan, split it to fit around the chain and duct taped it back together. Now the squirrels can't get traction on the top, so they finally stopped trying. Downside is, the birds are a little scared of the shiny new top, but at least the seed will still be there when they get brave enough to try it again!
