A few months back I got four new tires mounted and balanced for $325 which would have cost a customer 550.

I get no 401k or nothing but that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick

Well here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon we’ve got about 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Christmas day took a friend's motorcycle out.. he bought it on line, took an extra month to deliver it, I took delivery, he's down in Cd. Chihuahua, he put it in my garage, with the keys in it (I wouldn't have let him store it there otehr wise) and he did say I should ride it to keep the gas from shellacking up. Sooo took it over to Lajitas, 110 miles round trip to get a hamburger (i'd have bought anything, but they have particularlly good burgers ! Made my wife go in and get it, she wanted me to change clothes before the ride, I wouldn't , so she said WE were not going into any place.. so she kinda setr herself up for having to go in and get the burger.. she did take all my money.. but that's a lot like moving it from one pocket to the other. Nice trip along the river road at the base of the mountains.. an aerobatic aircraft is more than my budget can justify.. but the bike is probably better anyway. Twas a nice day bordering on being to warm.
When we got back she wanted to rake leaves.. I told the kid,, and he sez "she wants to do yard work on Christmas Day?" I said "To your Mom, it's Saturday" anyway, I didn't rake leaves.. got bigger projrcts than that with a higher priority (didn't work on that either, BUT I did gather the files on a client who wanted to pay off his land purchase.. he was only two years slow, had I charged him for the additional interest it would have been $1500 more.. but I'm easy, perhaps too agreeable as Dr Jordan Peterson would define it.
Getting warm this afternoon, I broke a sweat (it's in the eighties)
I tried to gauge the bike's fuel usuage.. I came up with 16 miles per gallon.. I need to measure it again next fillup.

Pup? it'd be cruel to have one that breed here. When we have snow, ('bout once every 5 years or so) we get out at the break of dawn so we can take photos of the mountians laced with it.. by ten am ther effect is lost and by noon it's all gone.

He’s 10 months old. He’s the third one of that breed that we’ve had.

Oregon’s climate is very diverse. Some areas always get snow every winter. In other areas it can be infrequent or rare.

I live in the Willamette Valley which is west of the Cascade Range. Snow in winter where I live is sort of hit or miss. Last winter we didn’t have any; this year we’ve got some.

We like it because the snow is so pretty on everything, and it doesn’t last long.

Right. Most of winter here is cool and rainy, while the further inland (east) you go, the colder it gets, and long lasting winter snow is normal.

I may be in the minority but, I love the snow.

It's rare to have snow here, in southeast Arizona but, we've had some.

I also have a place in New Mexico, in the mountains and, we get lots of snow there.

    Currently, I'm in Arizona, though.

I’m so far behind! My favorite thing this time of year in the Midwest, was reading veggie porn, and planning!! I relate to that.lol.

But, now, I am late planting my veggies. All the stuff I used to start mid May, is now late, in SE Florida.

We have to provide shade for our plants.. the sun is very brilliant. I figured this out when I had rose bushes on either side of an entrance.. one was thriving, the other, not so much, then I realised it was due to the thriving bush getting sahde a good part of the day.

Yep, I've roasted a plant or two in my time. 'Full sun' doesn't always mean 12 hours of direct, blazing, southern summer sun, even in Zone 7a.

Careful planning of trees, shrubs and if nothing else, sun dodgers goes a long way....
