Couple of questions. Why do they involve politics to a whistleblower? What has politics to do with his act of leaking information from the FBI and NSA? It appears as if he 'leaked' (planned ahead) to only cause political promotion? Why does the (system's) media support a whistleblower anyhow?
Conclusion: Snowden, media and politics all work closely together. Because this US Snowden leak episode is strikingly identical to the British episode of Assange/Wikileaks, British media and politics of a couple of years ago (the leak, the media attention, the political part, the speech to the people)
It's always political, because the media is the main tool of politics, without propaganda they cannot win over the people/take away their freedom (mass organisation via politics/political party does not lead to more freedom, but to the end of it)
