I am not 100% sure about this but I thought for an appeal to be filed, Trump would have to put down a percentage of the judgement, (was it 10%???), before it can go ahead? So the bigger the judgement the more he would have to put up to get the appeal?

In order to appeal a civil verdict in New York you have to purchase an "appeal bond" in the amount that is equal to (or sometimes greater) than the amount of the damages. This bond must be fully collateralized (meaning that it must be backed by something worth that much, you can't just put down 10%). This way if the appeal goes against you then the plaintiff simply has to collect the award from the court.

 

Supporting someone that's been wronged, especially when they prevail against someone like trump isn't gloating. The evidence, whatever it was and I believe it was more than her word, was found to be true by a jury of their peers; she and trump.

She's a professional lady his assault and barging about it damaged her career and ability to do business and she was rightfully awarded punitive damages. Trump still gets of light, no matter how much it costs, his supporters will pay for it, he should be in prison.

 

Maybe, the state of NY can come up with a care and feeding plan for ms Carrol hosted in some comfortable mental assistance facility since she seems to be entirely unwilling or able to testify to the truth or facts. Since ms Carrol cannot be bothered to even remember the year the incident happened, it does seem entirely unreasonable that mr Trump should be held financially responsible for her defamation of him.
