Call me stupid but what does a 1700 American flag look like? The country wasn't founded until 1776 so is that it or is there an actual flag from 1700 she is referring to.

She's an American and that gives her the freedom to not salute the flag if she doesn't want to. I think it's pretty stupid to post about it online, she had to know this would bite her in the ass.

Soldiers might get in doors to avoid honoring the colors, but not everyone brags about it on Instagram or Facebook or whatever it was. In my book, she gets a choice: if she posts any more crap about disrespecting her flag or her country then she gets kicked out. Or she can ht the bricks with a voluntary discharge right freakin' now.

 

I don't think you were in the military. You know how many people try to avoid colors...and why? Because it's iritating to have to pop to a salute every time it goes off. I was in the military. A lot of people run inside before colors to avoid saluting. Posting it on facebook or whatever is stupid, certainly, but she is certainly not the only one to do something like that.

I don't think this was about a lack of patriotism, if that's what the posters are implying.

It's kind of like a thread I remember created a while back about a Puerto Rican girl refusing to say the pledge of allegiance. Conservatives went nuts ranting about illegal Aliens and other sorts of racist drivel, but then a poster posted a story in the thread about a white kid refusing to say the pledge of allegiance, and they all went silent. There's some definite double standards here.
