This is not quite true. The fact about battle of 28 panfilovcev was questioned as early as in 1948! But noone questioned about the deadly battles that were near Moscow in 1941. It really took place. And this matters! There were existed a lot of real soldiers who struggled to death like it was described about these 28 Panfilovcev. And this monument- it should be understood as a monument to all the people who struggled with Nazis in Russia near Moscow in 1941.

You know very well,that all those who lived in Soviet Union considered as Russians from outside. Vlasov army contained not only ethnic Russians, but also Ukranians, Lithuanians and other nationalities. What is more important is that in Lithuania and Estonia now all those who served Nazis are welcomed, while in Russia they have been always punished.
