I see Obama wanting to take action to shore up his credibility as a serious player but just can't see what action he can take that will not be seen as meddling or aiding one side or another. For certain, at this point, a Syria with Assad in power knowing Obama is against them is worse than neutral, a Syria with radicals in control threatening Israel daily with attacks is a huge headache and one hat is in continual war and exploited by radicals is worse. It's a terrible situation for him and I think that if possible, he'd just like get rid of his problem and send Syria some more WMDs via cruise missile.
