LEOs in our county have officially been given the order by the top brass not to enforce Thanksgiving COVID "guidelines" given by our state. Well done to the LEO community by KEEPING THEIR OATH. Well done!

Then I guess you would have no problems with breaking out the CAT950's, running them through homeless camps and picking up the rigged up tents and their occupants and hauling them off the county dump where they could be fenced in and cease spreading their disease's into the healthy population of the U.S.

For a lot of people with pulmonary problems forcing them to wear a mask can result in life threatening problems, lungs are not designed to pull a strong vacuum and restricting the air flow in or out of them is dangerous..

Nah. I’m opposed to forcing anyone. Many homeless are so because they don’t want to be part of society. I understand that and respect it.

I’m vehemently opposed to forcing anyone to wear a mask, eat healthy, or exercise.

I’m also opposed to people cherry picking one thing they want to mandate, masks in the above instance, while ignoring other behaviors that have a much greater influence on public health and innocent “bystanders“.

Not workable. First you have to show negligent conduct by the defendant, then you have to connect that conduct to actual damages( his virus attacked you and thus medical, wages etc ) and you probably have to show that you made proper efforts to mitigate foreseeable damage by social distancing from him, hand washing etc when you were around him.

That would blow the case out of the water, to prove negligence the plaintiff would have to prove they caught CV-19 from the defendant, which would require having access to the defendant's health records which would not be possible as they are protected.

The next hurdle would be conclusively proving had the defendant wore a mask it would been impossible for the defendant to have infected the plaintiff, which is something that cannot be proven.

However what this thread clearly exposes is how sue happy many in our society actually are.

These are the type of people, who if they smacked their finger while hammering a nail, would sue the company that made the nail for not installing a finger protector on the nail and they would sue the company that made the hammer for not equipping it with a finger in the way brake system.

And if successful society would be saddled with nails costing $1.50 each and hammers selling for $200 each.

Many units in the National Guard have not assisted in the 5 states mask initiative. I personally know a company commander that advised his unit to focus on the unit's mission and not a piece of cloth that a state is requiring you to wear. He's still in command and is doing fine work for their mission. The forced masks and curfews are the definition of fascism. If someone wants to wear a mask, wear it! If they don't, do not wear it.

This is not helpful. This kind of attitude only increases the predisposition of many against masks and against mask proponents.

If anybody here has followed my posting, they know that I'm a strong proponent of masks, down to posting numerous times suggestions about what kinds are more efficacious, and how to enhance the seal and make them better. I've also posted numerous times, scientific papers endorsing the reduction in relative risk of catching coronaviruses for those who wear the correct types of masks.

But, I've always been for this being optional, as in, a personal decision. I believe that the correct attitude should be one of advocating for a public health educational campaign, not one of mandates, charges being filed, and lawsuits.

This is a wise saying: one catches more flies with honey than with vinegar.

In the near future the US will be losing the same amount of people a day that died on 9/11.
A lot of the responsibility will be laid firmly at the feet of people like you who care so little for their fellow Americans that they aren't prepared to wear a little bit of cloth over their faces when out in public.
You're already about two thirds of the way to the total US body count in WWII.
Honestly, it's pathetic that you value your freedom to go maskless more than the lives of your fellow countrymen.
It's worse than pathetic, it's disgusting.

16 million Americans served in WWII. That's 2.51% of at risk people who ended up "dead from war".

Of 330 million Americans at risk for catching Covid, 0.08% have died.

Even if you want to divide WWII deaths by 4 years, war was far more deadly.

Sorry you are totally misinformed about the dangers of wearing mask.

First of all using a mask to block a virus is like using a chain link fence to keep mosquitoes out of your yard, the weave of cloth is way too open to block or trap a virus.

Second, the primary vector for the virus from human to human is moisture, produced by ones breath, or a cough or a sneeze and yes a mask will trap some of that, but here's the problem you and too many others fail to realize, while a person is breathing through a mask, the air they exhale is warm and it begins to evaporate the water droplets the mask has retained and that evaporated moisture is contaminated with the virus, as such the person wearing the mask is pushing out the virus like a paint gun over a much larger area than a person with CV-19 and no mask ever could.

As such, it is you spreading dangerous lies about wearing a mask, your advice will only make the virus spread way more, faster and further out than a infected person without a mask ever could.

You really need to research the basics of vectors and physics so you can understand, the smaller the moisture droplets are, the longer they can they remain airborne and then be inhaled by others wearing a mask or not, if they are wearing a mask the moisture droplets will enter the clean mask, quickly dry out as the person inhales and then release the virus into their lungs, infecting that person with CV-19.

Wearing a mask literally causes a person to become a secondary vector for the virus, as they carry and spread around contaminated moisture droplets when they exhale.

It's a double whammy, they can not only infect themselves, but also can infect those around them.

A third problem is the 6 foot rule, if you are not wearing a mask distance reduces the chance of receiving the virus from a infected person, but too many times people who wear a mask have a false sense of security, so they fail to maintain a safe distance from others, add to that the reducing of droplets by wearing a mask which allows them to stay airborne longer, negates the advantage of distance.

Therefore wearing a mask is dangerous on many fronts, they contribute to spreading the virus, they enhance respiratory problems for people who have pre-existing respiratory problems and they give people a false sense of security, worse yet many masks are not built to any standards what so ever, they fail to seal against the wearers face properly, allowing a person with CV-19 and wearing a mask to spread the virus as they exhale, way too many people after wearing a mask for a while will lower the mask so they can breathe through their nose, eliminating any purpose what so ever for wearing a mask and too many people also fail to properly dispose of their mask after 8 hours of wearing one, instead they wash them, further reducing the masks ability to trap moisture droplets.

In closing if you want to wear a mask go for it, but understand it is for the most part nothing more than virtue signalling and a dangerous way to make yourself feel better.

For me, I normally do not wear a mask as where I live and work I do not need one, however when I go to a overpopulated area like Fort Myers, I do wear a respirator that has the ability to trap virus's, if those don't want to spend the money to do the same, that's is on them, not me.

Once again get informed and get a clue, masks are dangerous and where never designed for what they are now being used for.

I am thinking about my fellow Americans and therefore want them to know the truth about masks, not the BS proffered by the mask Nazi's who are only concerned about controlling people and don't give a rats fanny about their health.

They were that to begin with all along, Covid merely gave them the opportunity to exercise it out in the open. Never forget, the Nazis had millions of WILLING hands.
