    What do you think would be a REALLY good, stimulating, and interactive book for a 3yr old?

    All suggestions welcome and appreciated.

    :thumbsup::heart:

    Is the kid showing signs of reading yet, or is he interested mostly in the pictures? And if so, any type he particularly fancies?

    More the pictures, but also one that I can perhaps read to her?

    Just curious if there is a series out there, that is esp suggested or enjoyed...

    I don't know if the Dick and Jane books are still out there. A bit dated, but worked for a long time. Perhaps Dr. Seuss?

    It's been over twenty years since I taught a K-1 class.

    Not interactive but my kids really enjoyed these:

    Any richard scarry book.
    The berenstain bears series.

    My grandson at three was a huge fan of Thomas the Tank Engine. there's a ton of books.

    I was really excited about some of these "interactive" wand reader books, thinking that the kid would use the wand and would pick up some rudiments of reading. At 3 years old it was a novelty that wore off in about 5 minutes, so I'd stay away from that stuff for another year at least, no matter how tempting.

    Hayden is now 4.5 yo and he is totally wired to his iPad. There is an awesome array of learning apps out there, However, excessive use does have some problems. He gets so into the game or puzzle or whathaveyou that he becomes oblivious to what's going on around him. Its a trade off there, but he is learning a bunch from it.
