Says you. I don't see such exclusionary statements verbatim. It is simply your imagination.

Why do so many of you gun haters out there have a problem with the Second Amendment? Please respond with some intelligent thought.

    Guns are lumps of metal.
It's the people who think they really need a gun who are dangerous.
We've heard arguments about guns being the last line of defence against Muslims, the right to own military weapons that have absolutely no use in the civilian world and even people who want to arm all mummies with babies.
Frankly, that sort of thing goes to prove they aren't people who should be allowed anywhere near a lethal weapon.

    Added.
I have no problem with target shooters who engage in their sport for legitimate reasons.
I have no problem with people who hunt vermin or game.
I have a large problem with people who have no real need to own guns but think they need them for self defence.
Paranoid behaviour is hardly an indication of a good gun owner.

Yes, there are people who should not have weapons of any kind. However, the vast majority of Americans are law-abiding, and are entitled to the rights set forth in the Bill of Rights.

The funny thing is that the Second Amendment does not have anything to do with target shooting or hunting, but everything to do with self-defense.

The exclusionary statement regarding the militia of the United States is in Article 1, Section 8.

A militia of one cannot exist unless there is a State of One as well.
