Louisiana authorities are searching Saturday for a suspect who allegedly grabbed the gun from a New Orleans police officer and fatally shot the 22-year veteran in the head.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So an unarmed suspect killed the cop this time. I thought they were no threat, right? This time the officer is dead and suspect is on the loose. If this had turned the other way and the cop was able to defend himself and shoot the suspect, would New Orleans turn into another Ferguson? Would NOLA be burning and protesting underway?

so even when the bad guys don't have guns, they can take them from good guys that do have guns and kill them

was there a copcam of this by chance?

will cops protest and stop protecting the public now, stop doing their jobs?

maybe a cops gun should only work with a cops hand, think they have those kinda guns now

he should of been place in a police van [IMG] not a patrol car with one officer , vans are more secure, Baltimore incident has change everything making police more vulnerable

its not really hard to get out of handcuffs as you think some guys have double jointed wrist and can wiggle out and some criminals carry a handcuff key tape on there body, i was a corrections officer for a year we where told this never trust handcuffs

The story says they beleive the officers gun was not used. I have to agree this is a weird one but there are lots of weird people in this country.

they said he slipped them from the back to the front, I assume that means they were still on when he killed the cop

there only two ways of him getting a gun, one it was planted there in the back seat, by his friend or relative when the cop was looking the other way. or the cop didn't do a good enough pat down before putting him in the police car

I can see the guard rail thing between the front and back seats in the picture, I do not see how he did this, unless he scared the cop and he crashed, then hit his head or something and was knocked out, how did the cop die?

says he was shot, do you think he had a gun on him already? one the cop missed during the pat down

sad case and a rare one at that as usually at this point, it's smooth sailing for a cop

I think they need to look at those dividers and find the flaw there too

Or the guy walked around with. 22 derringer and cuff key firmly wedged in his butt.
I notice both front and back windows are open. No real need for him to ever get into the front unless that's where he obtained the gun. How would he know there's a gun there? Weird.

Not looking to disparage this dead cop but we once had one in my hometown that made a habit of putting detainees in the front seat, placing his sidearm between them and daring them to go for it.

Same thing would have happened in Ferguson and Florida had the bad guys come out on top.

Yep, I think that's more logical. The whole story seems weird. It's a fresh story so the reporters might be using their own logic instead of facts. Why would the perp need to get into the front? That makes no real sense.

Let's say there was a struggle before the cop was shot only this time it was the cop who shot and killed the thug. Can you imagine the outrage?

He must have had help. My guess is from 2 people in a truck. A driver and a shooter could have pulled up beside him. I don't see how he could have got to the officer through the cage unless the police missed a gun on the pat down. He could have then shot out his window.

Are they going to have to up armour police cars now like Humvees? I would install a cuff in the back seat to attach to the criminal's cuffs behind his back. That way he couldn't get his hands in front to use a gun unless he could actually slip the cuffs.

Police story sounds fanciful and suspicious. Does the one-armed man have an alibi?

It's obvious black cops don't matter to liberals, just ask the mayor of Baltimore, or the mayor of New York
