No hypocrisy here. I never claimed to care about what will happen to the Afghan people when the US pulls out.

I'll leave the hypocritical crocodile tears to you lefties.

An army will collapse rapidly when its soldiers “feel abandoned by corrupt leaders.”

Sure was nice of Biden to leave the helicopters along with the humvees and all the guns, and leave them all in working order.

Weekly Biden Report Card: A no good, rotten week.

Nothing could've prevented the sad fate of the Afghans under the Taliban monsters, but I won't pretend care about that like you would've if this had happened under Trump.

A competent American President and intel staff could've prevented much of the embarrassing Saigonesque debacle that's unfolding right now though.

But we certainly don't have that.

    You didn't answer my question.

    Is it too difficult?

    Let's start again.

Pompeo met with the Taliban last November and made them promise to be nice to the population when the US army left.

As of January 20, 2021, there were only 2500 US troops left. An insufficient number to prevent a Taliban offensive.

So how would Trump have handled the situation if he had been re-elected?

    How ?

That's a road not traveled. Biden's the President, or at least he pretends to be. Obama/Biden pulled out of Iraq ant allowed the rise of ISIS. They said Iraq was the "wrong" war and that they were going to focus on the "right" war, Afghanistan.

    So how's that working out?

In July Biden said the Taliban wouldn't just take the country over. Now the only question is whether they will take the Capitol before 9/11 and before we can complete Biden's retreat.

Keep on wasting bandwidth and time, about the only thing Trump supporters can do.

    Irrelevant and pointless wargaming.

This debacle has Joe's name on it no matter how many Trump fantasies you waste your time dreaming up.

Finally, as is often the case, you don't have an answer.

You can only hope that what happens in Afghanistan will have an impact on the 2024 elections.

And we both know that it won't.

Over 70% of Americans support full withdrawal.

A straight answer to a pointless hypothetical? That's what you're looking for?

How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

I await your straight answer with bated breath.

There's enough blame to go around. We should have left during the last Bush administration. Seems politicians and the U.S. military overstay their welcomes. This was inevitable twenty years ago. Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden all failed in their goals for Afghanistan. Vietnam was the lesson NOT learned in U.S. foreign policy.

Bush failed in an unnecessary diversion into Iraq. Obama failed in expanding our Afghan presence rather than withdrawing. Trump failed in making a pro-Taliban withdrawal deal. Biden failed in preparing for an honorable withdrawal, protecting those who fought on our side.

Let's face it...we're lousy imperialists. Containment and winning the Cold War was our last great foreign policy victory.

We can also point out to you just how badly Team Joe has bungled this.

    Just take the L.

    Your squirming is undignified.

It's a counterfactual. How the hell do I know what would have happened in a state of affairs that never existed?

Here in the world that actually exists, Joe Biden is CIC of the most powerful military to ever exist in the history of human beings.
Do they support leaving the Taliban working guns? Working Humvees? Working Helicopters? Working MWRAPS?

If all of this was inevitable why did Biden paint such a starkly different picture, as recently as this July?

This is how delusional they are in Team Joe's camp-

Biden braces for brutal defeat in Afghanistan - Yahoo News
    https://www.yahoo.com › lifestyle › scoop-biden-braces...

1 day ago — The Biden administration is preparing for the fall of Kabul and a retreat from any U.S. diplomatic presence in Afghanistan — a stunning ...
    • The working assumption in Biden’s inner circle had been that Kabul could hold for the short term, allowing the U.S. to stay diplomatically engaged and help Afghan women secure their rights beyond the U.S. withdrawal.
    Ha!

Yeah, um, guys. I don't think this flag will be staying up.

9-11 was committed by a Charles Manson type, his followers came here, learned to fly planes, and crashed them into our buildings, they found a weakness and used it

I can't wait until we have good ledership again. When was the last good preisdent? Eisenhower? He was the one that warned us of the Military Industrial Complex. Every president since then, including Reagan, the Bushes, Clinton, Obama, Trump, and Biden have been either completely self serving, in the pockets of special intersets, or complete idiots.

I can smell the fear and desperation from here.
And how many support quick collapse, a spectacular intel failure, a desperate retreat, and a President in hiding?

You pull your forces in the Winter when there is little to no fighting.... doing it right now was optimal for the Taliban. Who's the idiot that green lighted this now?

The original negotiated withdrawal date was May 1st, virtually the beginning of the "fighting season." Biden stretched that out until September 11th. I presume that he counted on the Afghan government maintaining power for a few months, prior to the start of winter.

    Left: Kabul -------- Right: Vietnam

I thought China Joe said this would not happen? In both instances they are evacuating our embassy diplomats from the roof.

Vietnam 2.0... right before our eyes. So now, Afghanistan. What an incredibly STOOPID, needless disaster, all the way around. If I were either a registered Republican or Democrat, I'd hang my head in shame.

All those dead people, and all those BILLIONS of dollars that we don't HAVE -- completely wasted -- for NOTHING!
