Well California is raising the minimum wage for fast food employees to $20 an hour come next week. The bill was approved by the politicians and signed by Gov Newsom. It only applies to the larger companies. But also reported is two of the companies has already each laid off approximately 12,000 workers. The man-in-the-street could have predicted layoffs. And you can bet your boots the cost of your fries will be increasing in price and decreasing in size.

Has anyone been to a McDonald’s with those computerized order boards which replace cashiers? Get ready to see more of them and fewer semiskilled workers with jobs.

There are already tons of layoffs because of this (all by design of the left), they want you to be docile and controlled and begging for scraps (and half of you are just falling for all of it)
    SAD!!!!!!!

So the doom spiral happens. Seen it first hand in the restaurant industry myself.

Rise in costs in a low profit margin business = employee cuts and/or rise in prices = less customer service = fewer customers = more cuts = spiral down and down until closure.

The benefit is those employees remaining get more money. The negative is those employees remaining have to do much, much, more work to try to make up for the loss of fellow employees.

Towards the end, you’ll see things like 1 bartender taking the entire rail, 10 surrounding tables in lounge, and trying to keep up with drinks for the rest of the restaurant. Sure, he’s selling 2500 dollars and walking with 4-500 bucks on a good shift, but did he get destroyed doing it and providing hella lousy service so that more and more customers don’t return? Hell yeah.

And then the store closes altogether and now nobody is making anything

Which two companies laid off 12,000 workers? Only thing I could find was Pizza Hut laid off 1,200 delivery drivers and will opt to using a third party delivery.
