1. economy is improving, after he changes law
2. regulations falling away like dead wasps. Great for all of us
3. Strong protector of the USA. Got to love this.
Now if only congress would help. I want to credit this congress as well.

Our Bracero program was poorly recieved by some of us at the time. I happen to be one of those who actually have worked on farms growing up. YES, I got minimum wage as a 5th grader boy for chopping cotton. Do this all day long. Many if not all of my school classmates worked on farms. We were not Mexicans so we wanted the work.

Later on, Democrats kept telling the public we did not want the work. Heck, it was taken from us by Mexicans.

The Mexicans to this day can legally work in CA. They follow rules.

 

I can point to how Trump improved the economy. Democrats smack their forehead and do this.

 

ROTC qualified officers as you mention. BTW, in the Army, some former marines were in the Army during basic training so i asked them to explain what was harder training. They said the Army was. I asked how and was told the Marines marched more but in the Army we ran over hills more. Firing weapons does not matter what military you are in. It is the physical stuff.

My largest complaint was that even in AIT, as I look back on it, they should have done a lot more on the combat arms maneuvers than they did. We did some though.

We have some 200,000 armed forces personnel overseas in a world of 7.5 billion people. That's one soldier for every 38,000 people.

Also, we need allies and bases for our forces.

This business of illegals keeps going and going and going... and I don't see a damn thing chsnging. Half of illegals overstay visas. How about giving every American and every legal resident and visa holder a card like the Nexus pass that identifies a person with a photo, finger prints, and retinal scan and ties to a government database. Card readers are cheap, so we could require every employer, even of domestics, to vet their employees. Small firms in the ID business could even process employees on site by dropping by private homes. Businesses could buy their own readers. Employers caught violating the law could be fined or jailed.

I don't know if this is the best solution, but it's better than letting the illegal business to continue.

 

Democrats will scream bloody murder. And the reason why is they will protest you turn Americans into the police. Even with E verify, hire under X and you do not use E verify. I think if you have over 50 workers, you can use it. There is a problem making the citizens into cops. And Democrats will rush to educate all of us on this.

Do you ever hear of fining the cops who do not do what you want? Cops do not go after illegals. Cops are who should be allowed. I asked my own son in law, a long serving cop in CA, why don't you arrest illegals. He said he was not legally able to.

Trying to force employers to do what is not forced on teachers, doctors, etc. is not the best solution. Keep them out. Allow cops to arrest them.

Do you like Trump???? Give me a break. Even if they hate him, the citizens do not run the country. Some say May does not like Trump yet she and he are wonderful leaders. Trump goes all over to wild acclaim.

Ask yourself this. What do we know about other nations? Have you taken a poll asking you what you think of Australia or China? I doubt it. While in some areas, the public is well informed. I believe so anyway. Based on when I was based in Germany. I felt the Germans knew more about our country than our own college graduates knew and this was in the early 1960s. But for them to say they like our president? They have plenty of problems on their own plate to think of our presidents.

Foreign leaders can only do so much of what we want if their voters dislike our leaders. There are consequences to what Trump is doing.

You know darn well what I suggested would work. Is it the most cost-effective approach? I don't know. I'm certainly open to getting the job done for less. But I know nothing proposed by either party will solve the problem when half of illegals overstay a visa.

To do as you suggest turns citizens into cops. When a corporation e verifies, do the illegals remain or due to the citizens work, what happens to illegals?

E verify does not apply to all companies.
Cops patrolling your area can't turn in illegals.

I am not saying you don't have good ideas. Sure, let's do that. But watch Democrats scream the country became cops.

Not sure what you mean by "balance." We shouldn't have any illegals working. We'll never catch everyone, but we can get most of them.

No, it doesn't. The individual doesn't get a job. That's it. We don't want illegals feeling afraid of the potential employer. Besides, the Nexus-like card or other screening device could be accessing a database entry in error.

My approach would make it apply to all employers.

They might be willing to get most of the illegals out of the shadows in return and as part of setting up the program. I'd have no problem standing up in front of any group that wants to stop illegal immigration in its tracks and advocate the program.

 

You explained balance by saying not all illegals could be removed.
E verify just to locate and not get rid of illegals is not a good program. Why not add remove them when found?

Good luck getting the Democrats to include all illegals. They crave voters. And illegals do vote for Democrats.
